Hey, this is super duper early but I figured we could get some questions, fears, or concerns talked through until March 1, 2021, for priority or April 1, 2021, for the regular decision to NYU's ABSN 15 month program for non-nurses. Please don't be afraid, Please share stats if you are comfortable doing so. It really does help cohorts after us figure out strengths and weaknesses to be better applicants. Hey, after all, It's all about helping each other out at the end of the day, right! Don't be shy, talk about where you're from and things you may be worried about for the application process. As well as other schools you might be applying for!
First time poster, long time viewer. Been following this thread since I applied back in February. Promised myself I would add useful info to this thread to help others, and to post about my acceptance/rejection once I get it. You've all helped me quell my anxiety so much, it's only right that I return the favor.
So fortunately I didn't get a rejection, but unfortunately I didn't get an acceptance yet either. Stuck in limbo waiting another week. But here's what I've learned so far:
1. My friend applied about 3 days before me. She was accepted on May 17. I haven't even heard back. She's not accepting their offer, so her seat is up for grabs.
2. My friend's GPA was really good but she hasn't been back in school since like 2018. Since she was accepted, this would suggest that the administration team looks at more than just grades. FYI, she does not have any medical background.
3. I've been in school basically my whole life. Also no medical background. Went into a local community college in the beginning of 2020 to complete certain prerequisites, such as A&P, Microbio, Chem, etc.
4. Based on certain past trends, I'm not too sure about my acceptance anymore. Seats are running out, and you'd have to be a pretty strong candidate to get one of the remaining seats. And admittedly my GPA and background isn't that high. If I don't get in I'll reapply for the Spring 2022 semester.
5. I had the checklist disappear for me since end of April. One full month of waiting....
6. I called the NYU undergrad office today and the person on the phone told me I will get my answer within the next three weeks (woooooow big relief -.-). When asked, they said that admissions is still giving out both acceptances and rejections, though I bet that's something they're forced to say.
I'm keeping my head up high, keeping myself busy with other things. I'll update this thread if anything else happens.

No. Did you? I have an optimistic feeling that we will hear something on Friday. Probably just giving admitted candidates time and narrowing it down. And then probably next Friday being the first week of June and Monday being a holiday, they might start giving rejections and waitlists. Just my thoughts

I was thinking the same thing. I am eager to be done with this process LOL. I think some of us will definitely hear back on Friday

@tomatotin Why thank you for this. It's a really good perspective, I think if I were in your really cool position I would do the same. If I were to go private I think NYU would be top choice. The cost difference is not as drastic as if you were able to choose SUNY. I think either way you go you will do great, being able to go back and listen to lectures is definitely helpful, but you could also record.
I heard Downstate will take as long as until August, sooooo on the down side for us who might get waitlisted I don’t think it would give us more chances by people giving up their seats at NYU for Downstate.
