NYU ABSN Fall 2017

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if anyone was applying to NYU for the ABSN program in fall 2017? I'm kind of nervous because my GPA isn't the highest since I had to work all four years to help pay for school which took away from my studying time. I do have work experience in the health care field and a little over 100 hours of health related volunteering. Also, how is everyone planning on paying for school since it is soo expensive?

I applied priority! And they asked me for a course description and syllabus for my chemistry class to see if it covers what they are looking for

I called them and they have everything except one transcript which I already suspected hasn't been sent out yet or was sent out just recently from the school I requested it. People I talked to on the phone from NYU were really nice and helpful though. They said that they are getting a large volume of mail right now and if something is not yet in a student's file it could be that they have received it but it has not yet been sorted and matched to the student's file. So they said not to re-order if a transcript has been sent, but to wait and call back at the end of this week to see if it's been sorted and put into the system.

I applied priority and got the same email about my prerecs asking for syllable for each of my anatomy classes as I took the sequence at two different universities. Good luck all!

Do you guys think that we'll hear back from the admissions office this week?

When you guys go on Albert to check your applications, what do you see? Mine only shows the check list of what was needed to be submit.

Hopefully! I applied priority and have seen in older posts that they start to send out emails first week of April for priority applications. Fingers crossed its sooner rather than later.

I just received an email today that my application was marked complete. I emailed them last week to double check & make sure all of my LORs were attached to my application. No admissions decision yet, hoping to hear back this week. My albert just shows the checklist as well!

I hope so! I want to start making plans for fall. It seems like past years the earliest decisions were sent out to ABSN applicants on April 7th. Hopefully we will hear on Friday! :)

From what I heard, usually they send out acceptances/denials by the first Tuesday of April and on. Maybe tomorrow we'll hear back officially!

As I understood it, they don't require any LoRs but you can send in 1-2. I inadvertently had 3 people send them in for me because I wasn't sure if one of my recommenders was going to have enough time to write one so I asked a back up person just in case. I don't think more than 2 is necessary or will help much unless all 3 are amazing LoRs (just my opinion, but I could be wrong!).

It's Tuesday! Anyone heard anything? Nothing on my front boo hoo. ;)

Haven't heard yet! Really hoping they send out decisions before Friday...I'm so anxious!!!!
