NYU ABSN Fall 2015

Published

Anyone planning to apply to NYU ABSN program for fall 2015. Since I'm in CA, there's no way I could attend the information session. What important things were mentioned at the information session?

I didn't think it would be easy. We are suppose to change our lives to fit nursing school, not the other way around.

Anyone know how we find out what books we need or do we just wait until it's posted?

Hi guys, I'm currently applying for a loan for the tuition. Is anyone else concerned about how much student loan debt this school will put us in?? I'm getting kind of worried at how much debt we'll have compared to income as a nurse and am unsure if this school will be worth all that debt?

I'm trying to think about it and trying not to at the same time. I got into a cheaper school and my natural instinct it to go there but they just seem so disorganized (you get what you pay for?) but a the same time i want to attend NYU for the experiences i will have (the variety of clinical locations), it just seems lie a better program. If i wasn't planning on going back to school after, i wouldn't think about it twice but i should just take it "one step at a time."

@SweetDream, Thank you so much for your reply. I agree with you about NYU being possibly worth the extra cost since I also want to go back to school again after. And yes this university seems so much more organized that the cheaper schools, and we will get some great connections! I've also heard NYU grads get hired pretty quickly from the nearby hospitals after graduation! That would be amazing, lol

hi guys! I was just wondering if anyone knew how much books/supplies cost for the fall semester? I am trying to figure out how much loan refund money I have left over for rent after I buy everything

I got Brooklyn Maimonides

Hi guys, I'm new to this thread but I will be attending NYU in the fall as well. My clinical location is Lenox Hill in Upper East Side Manhattan. As for debt goes, I was lucky to receive the NURSE CORPS scholarship. I am wondering when we can purchase our books and what they are so I can find cheaper ones online or perhaps rent the books if possible. Have you guys heard anything? Also where are you guys living? on campus or off- campus?

Lucky you!!! That's a sweet deal. LH is a great site too! I will be off campus, in NJ :-0. I looked on the website for the bookstore for books and it shows a few but I am skeptical to buy anything until the professor sends out an email because yesterday, as you guys know, we got a email about the patho book and we have to buy it new from the bookstore or company website. So I would hate to buy the wrong thing, no time for mistakes!

How do you guys find out which clinical location you are assigned to?
