NYU ABSN Fall 2015

Published

Anyone planning to apply to NYU ABSN program for fall 2015. Since I'm in CA, there's no way I could attend the information session. What important things were mentioned at the information session?

Hi CNicho2024,

What is your major? Your overall GPA is a 3.1? To be honest, that is a bit low. What is your volunteer experience and resume like? Have you worked throughout school?

I graduated college with a 3.7 overall GPA. I have studied for a year at the graduate level with a 3.7 GPA as well.

I was definitely thinking that, yes.. working 2 jobs at a time. My gpa was a 2.3 freshmen year because i was in a car accident.. i managed to bring it up to a 3.3 .. But it dropped. My major is biology.. Volunteering at ob/gyn practice, and throughout high school as well at a nursing home

Just got my acceptance this morning!!!!!!!!!!!! NYU has been my first choice since last year, but was a bit nervous about their decision since my GPA is not as competitive as others. I just wanted to let you all know, that GPA is evidently not the only factor that they look at!!!!!

if you don't mind me asking what was your gpa? and congratulations!!

Omg, do you think its a way i could get in contact with you outside this forum maybe via email? You are probably the only person on the forum I've read that can relate too.

CNicho2024,

Hey! I definitely think you have a chance knowing more about you. I know someone was admitted this semester who did not have a competitive GPA, but he/she worked throughout college and that was clear on his/he resume. I think your volunteer work is going to be towards your advantage. Also, being a biology, I think is positive as well. You can send me a private message through the forum. I can tell you a bit about myself and where I came from. I started out at a community college.

Thanks!

Oh, sorry. I did not know you were referring to those on a wait list. In that case, I do not know when you should hear back. Sorry.

I know this is crazy but is anyone still waiting?

I agree! My GPA was very average
