NYU ABSN Fall 2015

Published

Anyone planning to apply to NYU ABSN program for fall 2015. Since I'm in CA, there's no way I could attend the information session. What important things were mentioned at the information session?

People are receiving rejection letters. One person has posted indicating he/she was rejected. Let's stay positive until the end.

I am curious to know if anyone that has been accepted applied as a non-accelerated student (i.e., you still need to take one or two pre-reqs)?

I recently left a graduate program for Speech-Language pathology and had no idea that acceptance is heavily weighed on your experience (volunteering or medical job). I know for grad school, it is your GPA. I have a 3.7 for undergrad and grad, so I know I am a competitive applicant in that regard. I have a few months of observing an SLP in the hospital.

I still need two pre-reqs to complete, so I may be segregated into the non-accelerated pool. I wish I knew if they are even accepting those who are non-accelerated students. Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

The wait is killer, lets all hang in there. Like someone previously mentioned..no news is good news lol. Yet, I agree...the anticipation is overwhelming.

i heard there was a trick to see if u got in by checking the financial aid or other pages on the page that students have full access to in order to see if you were accepted or not but im not sure if thats true

What do you look for once you get on Albert?

OMG I have been checking Albert to see if there was any changes..lol

im not sure because this girl said she applied to another schools before and if you are accepted you do have access to see everything a normal student would because you are in the system until you decline. so she said she knew she was accepted a week or a few days before she got her email b/c of albert but im not sure where she clicked

I'm not sure if this is something that only I've noticed but it's been on my mind. The amount of people participating in this cohort's forum seems to be about the same as the previous years if not more. But, it seems as though a lot less people have been sharing good news about acceptances.

Maybe NYU is reviewing the applications but haven't sent out any emails today, despite the tues/thurs rule we've been following. In last year's thread, at least two to three people have gotten in every single T/Th but from the last wave, only one person heard good news, and no one's heard anything today. Maybe NYU is just delayed on their releases this year.

This is all wishful thinking. And I'm hoping everyone the best of luck no matter what your results are!

There might be many people who got accepted and don't use the forum

they are always weird with acceptances ( last year a lot of people said they got in early april). idk if they have more people applying and they are super picky.

how many nursing students do they even accept? 125? 150? 175? 200? I know NYU has more students than others

I hear it's around the 160 range, but no more than 200.

Are there any people who read the forum who have not yet participated and were either rejected or accepted for FALL 2015 that wouldn't mind sharing their experiences? Any help would be great!

Got accepted this morning!

Do we have a Facebook page for admitted students??
