NYU ABSN Fall 2015

Published

Anyone planning to apply to NYU ABSN program for fall 2015. Since I'm in CA, there's no way I could attend the information session. What important things were mentioned at the information session?

It is not checked off on mine.

my high school transcript and standardized test was automatically checked off probably because i applied there for my first bachelor's. i think using an edu address works, because I received a faster reply. personal email addresses might go to junk or spam, because that was the case with one of the schools i applied to.

i do appreciate the fact that NYU never turned off the phone, even when it was during admissions rush season :).

and as for stats, someone asked, I've no clue at all because I've taken classes in both quarter and semester units and multiple classes which fulfill the prerequisites. however, keep in mind NYU uses holistic admissions, not a point based approach.

If I sent my recommendation letters on February 26 and it was delivered the next day (I fedexed overnighted it), is it still very likely that it is still "processing" and I should still hold off before I track my professors down..

good idea. i usually send it w a tracking number too, but in my case, the transcript which was sent in the same envelope as the recommendation was found, but not the recommendation itself.

Also did anyone ask when they anticipate releasing decisions? I have to pay deposit for 2 schools by 4/1.:(

@aha0019 yeah. I think we need to give it some time. if things aren't checked off appropriately

by the end of the week, we should definitely continue to call them next week, especially since we don't know if our letters reached them.

They told me they had all my transcripts but not my recommendations, even though they were sent over a month ago. I was told they could faxed to their office and have the people writing them put my university ID number on the top to ensure they got put with my application. Their fax number is (212) 995-4911 in case any one else wants to ask their recs to do this!

@ sborn . i believe a poster here said that they lost his recommendations multiple times, so perhaps that would be the case.

@charming_kitty and @sborn hi guys, so that's my case right now-- I don't understand how they "lost" my recommendation letters because according to the tracking number someone signed off on it. I am very annoyed and frustrated and have asked my professors to send it over via email... Also, if we were to fax the recommendation letters, we would have to ask the people who wrote it for us to fax it over because it is supposed to be sealed and confidential correct?

Guys..

do we need to submit a high school transcript? i've heard so many different answers so far from the admissions office-- someone telling me that it wasn't necessary and when i called in today they were telling me that it is necessary....

also, is our application considered "incomplete" until we hand in the recommendation letters?

They are optional, so it's not considered incomplete. If have a bachelor's, you do not need a high school transcript to send. She's just wrong!
