Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?
im honestly confused in regards to this area. but were we supposed to do anything else besides submit the materials for applying to NYU. as in financial information?
The application submission confirmation email had a paragraph about making sure not to wait until receiving your acceptance before submitting fafsa for NYU. (ie they said to complete and submit fafsa as soon as possible after applying to NYU which was first available for submission on January 1 2013). This is to help them plan for candidates need and their available aid.
So Ive been reading last years post and its kinda scaring me that some people in it seem to really dislike the whole nursing school. That they are disorganized and such.
Hi kmp23,
I have seen those kind of scary comments as well. All I have to say to that is that NYU nursing school is ranked 28th in the nation and it must be for something good they are doing. All the nursing programs are hard and in most accelerated programs you do a lot of self- teaching, mostly because they try to teach in 15 months or 12 months (for Pace) something other programs would do in more time. It is understandable that they would be very strick about grades since we would be dealing with human lives. Our future patients deserve the best care possible.
I wish too they were easier :)
Hey Mairayhans,
Thanks for your reply! I am fully aware of the difficulty factor that these programs consist of since they are short termed. I know they are ranked 28th in the Nation but that is for Graduate level studies. I expect the program to be rigid and extremely exhausting but most of those earlier posts say that it was very doable and they do mostly stimulation labs (which are disorganized) and less time in hospitals. Hopefully things changed in the last year or so...for the better. I just have my worries of spending 6 figures on an education that I could have gotten from a public university for 40,000 like everyone else :/

was i supposed to look up financial aid on NYU besides the typical FAFSA form? i saw on their website that it says something about applying for awards and financial aid before April 1st.
