NYU ABSN Fall 2013 Entry

Hello everyone! I have submitted my application and my transcripts to NYU for the ABSN program beginning in fall 2013! I am very excited but surprised that we will be hearing so late about an admission decision. Is anyone else applying?

I wonder how many applications they received.

So an admissions counselor told me today that the priority deadline really doesn't mean anything except that they look at those applications first. If you're an easy decision, you can find out around mid-April. If they look at your application and aren't sure, they need to look at the rest of the applicant pool (meaning all applicants, priority or not) before they make their decision. That could come as late as mid-May. I know this doesn't calm anyone's nerves, but it's probably better to know that we will probably not be hearing back today or tomorrow or anytime even this week. If we do, great, but I highly doubt it!

I would just add that we are coming off of the Easter and Passover holidays which were early this year so this also could slow things down.

You guys think if I call and say that I have another school waiting for my deposit on April 11th, they would help me out? I'll prob wait until the 4th-5th but its kind of cutting it close.

Kmp23 I think it would be totally reasonable to call them later in the week and explain your situation, especially if NYU is your top choice. They may not give you an answer but it couldn't hurt.

I have a big feeling we will get letters starting the 4th. I've been checking my email constantly and i keep this forum open hitting refresh hoping to hear some good news from one of you! GOOD LUCK to everyone!:nailbiting:

I applied to Summer 2013 ABSN at University of Colorado, but didn't get it. NYU is the only other school I've applied to that is pending acceptance. Crossing all my fingers and toes........ I talked to a friend of mine that started the NYU ABSN Fall 2012 program. He said that he got his letter of acceptance email on the 5th of April last year....which bodes well that we haven't heard anything yet. I'm guessing we'll start hearing around Thursday/Friday as well.
