NYP Meet and Greet January 2016

U.S.A. New York

Hi everyone! There are so many topics on the NYP Meet and Greets that I figured I would start one specifically for the meet and greet that was yesterday (1/20/16). Did anyone attend? Did anyone feel that they did well or receive any verbal offers?

I did very well on my interviews with the Patient Care Directors, but bombed the interview with the Talent Acquisition Specialist. For some reason I stumbled over her questions and felt that I didn't answer them all to the best of my ability. I am hoping that the successful interviews with the PCDs will help me to land a position. I was informed that they will be opening positions on the unit according to the number of qualified candidates that they want to hire from the meet and greet.

I figured we can all share information in here about where we are in the post-interview process.

Went to meet and greet in January. Was just emailed for an interview with talent acquisition and a department manager on same day. My online status says under consideration for both the new grad event I went to in January and for staff nurse.

Good job!Which facility and Dept? They're very quick with letting you know if u got job or not. within a few days after interview you'll know if u got job. I found out 2 days after interview

Congrads!!!!!

I went to this event in January at Columbia & a week later they called me for a second interview & offered me the job the next day. If they want you they will call you ASAP - I went thru orientation in the beginning of March & have been on the floor for about a month now. To answer a few questions..

- yes they have a Pharm exam, if you have to take it ask for the review sheet it's a lot of meds but very straight

- as for the out of state question, this hospital is VERY out of state friendly, at my orientation I sat at a table of 10 girls me being the only one from NY (shocking)

- the nurse residency program is for 1 year & you meet about once a month

- orientation is typical 6 weeks days & 2 weeks nights for new grad nurses (different depending on your unit) esp ED you have 4 weeks in class orientation after the first 2 generic weeks of orientation everyone goes thru before you hit the floor

WOW! Congrats, MCNURSE631!

I really want to get a job with this health system. Just curious, were there any ADN's that were hired (but enrolled in BSN)? They emailed me few months back saying I have the experience but want someone who is already BSN. Frustrates me because in the online application when they ask the highest degree an applicant has, there's an option that says "eligible to obtain BSN in 3 months" which is me! But I always get the status "Application received; not selected" when I submit my application :(

3 more months and I'll be a BSN. Hopefully I will get something *fingers crossed*

Womp womp. Rejected lol. Better luck next time.

You have to be officially completed with BSN to be hired

Hey! I was just wondering when you graduated and when you took your NCLEX - were you offered the job before passing your NCLEX?
