Hey everyone, I was just wondering, besides location, what are the main differences between NYP cornell and NYP Columbia??? Is one better known, or a better place to work?? Thanks in advance!

Not a nice thing to say. HSS earned ther Magnet Status. The OR is not for everyone. HSS has the best and the most dedicated OR nurses. They maybe overworked because of the nursing shortage and the growth of the hospital. It is not right to stay in program just to get paid as you wait for your new job to come though. It shows a very bad character. I wouldnt trust you in the ICU. You wasted the hospital money and made fools out of the nurses who tried to train you. Then you complain on a public forum. SHAME ON YOU

Hey BalletShoe,

Please back off. The nurse was describing his/her experience and opinion in response to others who requested that, including me. If the truth hurts, then that may be a problem with HSS, but there is nothing improper about making a truthful communication on a public forum. Such communication is essential to improving patient care and job conditions for health care providers. You, however, have made statements about a nurse's character even though you apparently never met nor worked with him/her....For all you know, she (he?) may have stayed on extra weeks at the request of HSS as they may have a problem getting new nurses (I wonder why???). I also see, BalletShoe, that your account on allnurses.com was created just today---perhaps you are a recruiter at HSS who created this account merely to inaccurately atack someone expressing a truthful experience there? I am reporting YOUR post to the allnurses.com powers that be. By the way, did you bother to read all of the nurse's posts? Here're parts you may have skipped: "I think HSS is as good place to go to once you've gained well-rounded experience..." and "For the most part, the people were very nice to work with...." Doesn't sound like the nurse was trying to make fools out of those who trained him/her.

Thank you NYForLove!! Really appreciate the support. I know I didn't insult anyone in any of my posts. The nurses and surg techs there were wonderful to me. I know people who were in the program with me would not say the same. I was just voicing my opinion on what I observed and what the nurses voiced themselves.
