Nybon Nursing School Under Investigation

I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

There isn't anything u can do, you just have to wait and don't know how long that will be

I'm not getting into anything. I know people that went there and passed, but it wasn't easy.  Nj has alot of schools why go to Florida

Florida offers transfer of all credits unlike ny. Nursing schools are great businesses

Also I don't have the ability to be in Florida and New York in the same day. As people claim they went to school in Florida while living in NY which translates into having the ability to be in two different states the same day. The people who went to JC do not claim that. We are not that gifted. First we did all of our classes in one state and then after finishing all those classes transferred to a different state. We don't have your ability

Good afternoon,

how could we find this list? Because I have yet to see my school on any list. Also  those schools who are closed, Are not able to get a score report? Why not? If those applicants want to get their score transfer wouldn't that help NYBON remove those automatically. I am trying to understand. Thank you for taking the time to explain to us what is going on.

so this is an in-house list, not something that is out for the public.  the link to the Florida BON for all open Florida nursing schools is something the public can view.

You can not transfer from one nursing school to a next with out starting over. Nursing classes are not transferable in any state including Florida. Who ever told u this, is wrong. And the school is wrong because this would be saying u went to there school for there program which u did not.  Why would someone finish a whole program and transfer to an none accredited school so many states away. Wouldn't be wise to transfer to school that's accredited and.much closer since u live in ny.

There's no educational law in any state in the whole United States that prohibits transfers of nursing credits. It's the schools decision not yours. Like transferring of credits doesn't exist they do transfer of nursing credits in The mid west and Cali. In previous posts you did mentioned going to school in Florida.  You just can't explain how you did both at the same time.

The reason we are even in this predicament is because of the underhanded tactics of those certain Florida schools. They did provide valid a nursing education but because they were secretly selling diplomas on side, you education is null and void just by association. NYBON has the list of those people that actually purchased diplomas without an education. It was provided to them by the feds. Most people on here don't fall under that list. If you did, NYBON would of asked for your surrender of licensure. Unfortunately it put all approved schools under scrutiny. NYBON is just trying to protect the integrity of the nursing practice while they do there investigation. They still let students from certain schools test knowing that they wouldn't give a license which is where they messed up since some of students actually passed. All we can do now is wait for their decision, go to Florida take the boards, or get a NYS accredited nursing education. From they way things are looking, approved schools are a no go going forward but let's see what will happen with those that passed the boards already. Your anger should be with the Florida schools.

Applicants for licensure in New York who submitted education from a program that is not satisfactory may have verification of nursing education from a New York-registered or accredited program that meets the requirements in the Education Law submitted for review.

I want to know where I fall on, I went to Jersey College completed all course work at Jersey College. I have an exit exam by the department of education for Jersey College which JC was doing against an educational law in the state of NJ

The Board reviewed and discussed language to be included in the nursing education regulations which allows programs to administer an exit exam but prohibits use of the exam as a barrier to graduation.

After discussion, the Board upon a motion made by Lucille Joel and duly seconded by James Doran voted to approve the proposed language to N.J.A.C. 13:37-1.21.

Many students were forced to transfer to Carleen to graduate bc JC was at fault. What Carleen did was a transfer of credits so that we could sit for the the NCLEX RN so many tested and passed for Florida, we live in NY  we need our license to work. I applied 4 weeks ago for endorsement. I want to know when I will get license, I need to work
Verification must be submitted by the school with a transcript that does not include course work completed at a program deemed unsatisfactory by the Department.  And with this I completed all course work at JC the school committed fraud then we went to JC to sit for NCLEX RN. I want to k ow what's going to happen with us.

Have JC send your course work including clinicals and official transcripts to NYBON...that's what they mean by course work from an accredited program
