I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

My understanding is that on 9/27 instead of rejecting all schools outright for not be accredited and only approved, they will reject specific schools that they found fraudulent such as those they put on the list. Right now, even if the school is not on the list and is "approved" those applications are not going through. So I assume they will not be giving license to the Carleen type of schools that they found to be shady even if they are "approved" but will continue to issue license to other schools. Correct me if I'm not interpreting this correctly.
By my understanding is that the schools must be satisfactory regarding education and must meet with ny education standards. They put in emergency order to stop all approved fl schools from attaining license due to standards not being met from the whole crack down of those schools in fraud. It does not matter what school u went to if the curriculum doesn't meet there standards you will not get the OK. This is why they stop releasing test results.
That meeting is for them to keep that order in permanent placement so they can reject schools that don't meet Standards. If they agree they can pick which school they approve or reject all approved schools. They said there was a lope hole that they realized students were taking advantage.
This is why they are doing a wide education review on all fl schools.
Hopefully they will let people move forward. Cause all fl schools have the same curriculum its just the majority of them are approved

Also there is an investigation going on with a list of fl schools in Florida

If you can post where u got your info would be helpful to everyone; but this is what I got from the memo from April 10
@Maria30 where are you seeing this ? I searched the website but can't find it.
At this point this is more stressful than I thought it'd be. Hopefully they do have a meeting in 9/11 and 9/12 so we can get an answer. My school was approved and not on the list took my exam and passed all Im waiting for is my score to be sent. I'm thinking if they would at least give me my score maybe my state will accept it. This is too much just because others decided to scam the system. If you're not giving me my license I passed my exam release my score simple as that. Why hold me accountable for mistakes others made it's not fair.

Exactly! I'll be okay if we're told we can't work in NY (because of THEIR new rule), but don't block my blessings elsewhere. That decision shouldn't be for NY to make for all other states. I'll definitely be praying about this upcoming meeting. I still have my job offer from 5/7, God willing I can accept it by the end of September.

It's listed under the advisory notices. However, I called this morning to confirm and the lady had no idea was I was talking about. In the last 4 months I've been calling, I've realized that they'll give different info and not everyone knows. If you call, please let us know.
