Nybon Nursing School Under Investigation

I finished my LPN-RN program from Carleen Health Institute. I took the NCLEX under New York state board and passed the exam. I'd been waiting on the license a couple of weeks and decided to call NYbon, was told the school is under review - hence they would not be issuing any licenses till the review is done. They also wouldn't give a time frame. Does anyone have any idea how long these reviews usually take or what could be done in situations like this?

Ms. Sullivan announced that the FBI investigation of Florida nursing programs is ongoing, that the FBI has identified additional illegedly fraudulent nursing programs. She added that the National Council of State Boards for Nursing (NCSBN) remains the key resource for information regarding FBI"s activities, as well as other state's efforts to address the allegedly fraudulent nursing programs. She reminded the BON Members not to comment on this matter as a BON Member. She noted that is important that BON Members remain neutral and unbiased in case they are asked to participate in a disciplinary proceeding involving allegedly fraudulent nursing programs.

 

For those living in New York state, reach out to your elected assembly member = state representative as they are experts dealing with state agencies like BON.

Has anyone reached out to there assembly person and gotten assistance or help? I called the state the other day and was told the same thing again.. just keep waiting. I did reach out to my assembly person but have not gotten any response.

Boards can take a max of 2 years before making a final decisión from the time that you applied 

 

I reached out to my assembly office in December and discovered that my school never sent out Form 2. Initially, they were advocating on my behalf, but after the new assembly office took over, they seemed unsure of how to proceed. Meanwhile, my classmates have already gotten their licenses. Despite this setback, I'm staying persistent , I will get my NY RN license. In the meantime, I endorsed my Florida license to Connecticut and was approved. I plan to go to the assembly office in person and demand that they advocate for me.

 

Please can someone also help me because my school is under review by New York board of nursing. I have reached out several times they told me My School is still under review it's almost 2 years now,My School has been closed. I went to school in New Jersey The name of my school is Sierra Allied Health Academy, Inc. before my school was closed they send all my information to New York. I was able to sit for the exam twice. Right now I don't know what to do. Is  more than two years now.

Thank you for all the information I got from this group. I got my NY RN liscense by endorsement last year. Thanks GOD, my 2 yrs waiting ended. I did cintact with my Assembly member & their office helped me. Actually after my school sent form -2. They issue my liscense.   

Please, which state are you if New York can you give me the information how to contact the office the Assembly member

I initially from Florida,  while doing a travel assignment I like here and moved to New york state,  I became a resident and voter here. I search who is my voting area Assembly member for NY state. I called office and they told me they will contact as inter government office. After a week office notify me my liscense already been issued. Before that I called several times to nybon but everybody tell you have to wait but one day one guy told me my form -2 is missing, trust me nobody tell me about it for a whole year. After my school sent form -2 they issue my liscense.

What did the assembly office say that helped you get your license? What argument or reasoning did they use that led to the licensing board approving it? I want to know exactly what to tell them when I go on Monday.

 

If your school or program is closed NYS BON is putting the school on hold and for further review.

@starr2022, I have a question?  So for all those that didn't get a letter 2 years ago to give up license, but went to one of the schools on the list, when one is trying to renew won't be able to renew.
