NVCC Spring 2020

Hi,

I started this thread for those that want to chat, brainstorm and encourage each other through the application cycle.

For anyone who might not have Facebook, MEC just posted this a little while ago:

“Nursing admissions decisions are being finalized. Please check you’re student emails regularly and get the checklist( listed in your acceptance email) items finished as soon as possible.”

My heart dropped because I almost thought they sent the emails. I’m sooooooo nervous.

I check That page on FB frequently. They sent that post at 11pm! Good catch Jess

The things they look at are your PSY 230 grade, BIO 141 Grade TEAS results, and if you took any of the co-requisite courses. Having A's in both the PSY and BIO pre-requisites will generally move you to the top of the list. However, it is not the only way to get to the top of the list. Your TEAS scores and co-requisites can also have a significant impact on your position in the rankings.

They should be done and are getting things ready to notify students. Notices could go out within the next 32 business hours. Which means between tomorrow and Tuesday at the earliest. If they notify us first we will normally post on FB that they have started sending out emails.

32 “ business” hours( counting fingers and in my head) lol. I guess they’re getting us ready for med dosage calculations because I was trying to figure out what happened to Monday. Thank you MEC.

Correction, just heard back and emails might drop by end of tomorrow.

Thanks for the info! I have been meaning to see if anyone was able to attend the transfer fair. How is Mason's application process simpler compared to the other schools? In terms of competitiveness, does it differ if you are applying for the co-enrollment BSN programs, or would it be the same as applying for traditional BSN?

For those who have or currently doing this route, could you share your thoughts and experiences? What is a realistic goal in terms of course load and maintaining school-life-work balance? Is work even feasible in nursing school?!
