Hey all! Starting a thread for those applying to NVCC (Northern Virginia Com Coll) for the spring nursing program! This is my second time applying - tried for last Spring but didn't make it - my grades are a mix of mostly B's and some A's and I got 87.5, 80 and 90 on my TEAS sections. I really wish they'd let us use LORs or at least consider work experience. And I'm so glad they raised the TEAS requirements back to 78 - I heard that threw everything off for last year and that's why so many people applied. I also heard that they are accepting more people overall this year, so fingers crossed!!!
May the odds be ever in our favor
The application does say college science has to be in last 10 years. My hs chem is over 10 years. I seriously dont understand how different people say different things. It should be pretty simple to follow one standard rule, one standard answer etc
Every counselor I talked to about my high school courses has told me over the past three years of applying that there is currently no time limit on the high school class. They stress "Currently" when ever I visit. You can email [email protected] and verify. they seem to be the final verdict on a lot of these calls.
Anyone heard anything yet?
I doubt that Alexandria is part of Fairfax. I think Alexandria is part of Alexandria city. I think nvcc takes Arlington, Fairfax, prince William and loudon counties. But there is a connection between Fairfax and Alexandria.
I found this on the "NOVA Admit Guide" I don't think i can paste links here. But this is the take away on page 21

I had posted a link but it sent it for approval so i'm re-posting this without the link.
I just talked to the first year student admin person and acceptance and denial letters will be going out at the same exact time, and it will be within the next week- meaning the end of this week or the beginning of next week. Orientation is on November 8.
So MEC sends an email saying orientation is January 5th and you say orientation is November 8th. I don't understand.. First, whatever anyone tells you in school is bs.. They are just guessing and their pride won't let them say they don't know. We've seen enough of it to know. My one cent.

I have thought about LPN to RN but currently make over $20 hour so not my first option. All my friends who are RN make over 70k, much more that LPN cap salary. Nursing is a job that should be driven by passion and not money but RN salary is quite a bit more
