Hello , Everyone I'm a third semester student at Northern Virginia Community College and I know this is a bit early to be inquiring about nursing school but I just would like to get a head start on getting to know everyone interested in applying! I'm excited for the upcoming semester! i have some ice breakers to get this conversation started as well. Has anyone taken the TEAS test yet and if so how was your experience? and also do you have any remaining classes to take before applying.

You have to search NSG and click through each class and see. Like you’re registering for classes in “Class Search”

I am out guys GPA 4.0 teas 78. All the best my future nurses. Do your best !

I dont understand how you didnt get in with your stats. I hope you inquire because if your application made it past the MEC counselors then you should have received an acceptance letter. You ranked higher than others that got in. Good Luck

Edited-

Never mind. I read past post of you saying you will be out of the country. Sorry to hear.

Good Luck to all those that got in ?

I only have one more shot to take the TEAS since they changed the requirements again. smh. To those that scored high can you share how or what you studied. Thanks for sharing your stats.

I mean I am disappointed. I know my Teas score weren't the best but they weren't the worst either. Was the orientation truly in July? I thought the teas score would be good enough. I will definitely give it a try again in August when I return. I would do AP 2 and Micro B in the meantime.

Didn't get in.. 2.7 GPA, 78 score overall. What would you recommend for Spring Semester application? Thanks...

I got in with a 2.54 total GPA and 92.7% overall on the TEAS. I don't remember exactly what my pre-req GPA was but I think it was 3.2 to 3.5. I also have a previous B.S. in Health Sciences.

I won't be attending NVCC because I have already accepted admission to GMU's ABSN program. Does anyone know if NVCC has a waitlist for this program? I didn't see in the email where I could decline the offer, but I am really hoping my spot can go to someone else.

Do you mind telling me about your background/experience? I also have a bachelors degree but in biology. I struggled with depression and anxiety for a while which completely wrecked my grades and dropped my gpa to a sad 2.2. I lost hope after that. I tried applying to the Nvcc nursing but didnt get accepted with 3.1 gpa and 78% overall Teas score. I have lost hope. i dont know what else to do. I feel like such a failure ?

don't lose hope and don't beat yourself up! there is always the possibility of someones spot being given to you if they dont accept it. also there's always next year! you can retake courses, or maybe look into doing some cna work or volunteer at a hospital to gain some insight and experience into what you might be doing! see this as an opportunity for growth and exploration! ?

in the email i think it says that if you don't rsvp to attend the nursing orientation they will assume you don't want to be a part of the program and give the spot to someone else. you could also just email them directly to let them know aswell!

(if its possible) retake some courses to boost your gpa, and maybe retake the teas? but your score is still good so you don't have to.
