I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details

okidoks. I'll add you. I'm planning to leave by March next year. I will wait for my husband to finish his medical. His results are pending because of a finding in his chest x-ray. Hopefully, it's nothing and the tests will be negative so he can join us. God bless!! :)
Thanks to all the congratulatory messages. I can't wait to finally hold my passport with the IV stamped on it. Until then, I can not fully celebrate yet. Hehehe
Anyway, I will share what happened to me yesterday during my scheduled interview appointment. It was exhausting and rejuvenating (esp when I knew that we were approved) at the same time. Ok, so my hubby and I woke up really early to prepare even though we live near the embassy, just two to three blocks away. Got to the embassy around 5:00am but had to go back home because my 11-month old baby had a case of her own jitters and vomited on herself and me. So, we quickly showered and changed and drove back to the US embassy. We got there at around 6:30am. Good thing, they weren't calling IV applicants for 8:30am appointments yet. We waited for 20mins and then the guards told us to fall in line for inspection of the appointment letter. I met a fellow Lefora nurse there, which was a surprise! When it was our turn, the embassy employee asked us how many applicants and I told him 2 but my husband was there to accompany me to help me handle my baby. But he asked me why he was not for interview yet so I told him that his medical is still pending because he is for sputum smear and culture. Then, he gave us the bad news that my husband could not accompany me!! How could this be! I can't handle my very active baby on my own and trying to fill out stuff at the same time. But, we didn't have any choice. So, I had to go in. Good thing, we brought a stroller with us. The employee put stickers on our passports and gave us forms to fill up for delivery after. Be mindful of the numbers they put on your passports and numbers on the form. Don't interchange it as you fill up the form.
Inside the embassy just after entering the gates, you have to fall in line at window where you will hand over your appointment letter again and then they give you a Q-matic number. They gave me an expedited number because I was with an 11-month old baby.
Then, you are asked to enter the embassy building through the Immigrants visa applicants side. The other side would be for non-immigrants visa applicants. As you enter, you are asked to deposit your appointment letter at window 39 and then asked to sit and wait. I started looking for a seat where I could park my baby's stroller as well. Good thing, my baby was cooperating. I think she was groggy from lack of sleep. So, I was paying close attention to the Q-matic board as well as filling up the forms and paying attention to my baby all at the same time. Talk about multitasking! That's what moms have to do, I guess.
I had to wait for 30mins until my number showed up. I went back to window 39. They clarified about my additional derivatives which I was not able to add before my case was completed at NVC. They told me about the fees which was 795 USD for each derivative and asked me if I had the money. I told them yes. I gave the guy at window 39 my updated DS230 as well as the DS230 for my husband and baby. I was informed I only had to pay for my baby's visa this time and to hold off paying for my husband until he gets cleared from his medical. After that, they asked me to sit down and wait for my number to be flashed on the board.
Then, I had to wait again for about 30min. At this time, my baby was a little fuzzy and feeling harassed! Hahaha But she did behave after that. My number was called at window 40 for fingerprinting. I was asked my name and birthdate then asked to place the four fingers of my left, then my right and then two thumbs together on the machine. The lady at window 40 asked me to state my daughter's name and her birthdate. My baby didn't have to do fingerprinting but the lady just asked me to hold my baby up for her to see her. Then, I was asked to sit down and wait for my number to be flashed on the board again.
I waited for about 30mins again and I was called to go to window 50. There, a Filipino guy started asking me about my documents. These were the documents he asked for:
1. Job offer (He scrutinized it. Asked me why my pay rate is on a different page. He was slightly very irritating. Didn't respond to my good morning. Anyway, I smiled and told him I don't know because that job offer what was they sent me.)
2. Visascreen (no questions about that)
3. NCLEX-RN proof of exam (I gave him the certificate of licensure from Illinois and letter from Continental testing from Illinois that said I passed but he wanted something that would give him proof that I took it from Pearson-Vue. He asked me where I took my exam and I told him in HK. He said he was not familiar with how Illinois go about their licensure. I searched in my folder and found the appointment letter from pearson-vue and gave it to him. He was satisfied with that.)
Then, he started asking me when I got married and where I was working now. He also asked me if I ever went abroad to work as a nurse like what the usually fad nowadays but I said no. After that, he said I can now sit down and wait for the interview with the consul.
I waited again another for 30mins and my number was called to window 63. There was an Asian looking consul waiting for me. He asked how was my English and if I needed an interpreter. I said Good Morning and that my English is good. Then, proceeded asking me questions. These were the questions:
1. Who is my petitioner?
2. How did I get to know about my petitioner?
3. Where will I be working?
4. How big is the hospital I will be working for?
5. When did I take my NCLEX-RN?
6. Did I ever go out of country? What was my purpose?
7. Did I ever apply for a US tourist visa? What happened?
He then said that there is seems to be another applicant without me (referring to my husband). Asked me why he couldn't join me and I told him the reason. He started typing and then he said, ok your visa is approved. Pls have a seat and windows 71,72 will give you further instructions.
After 15 mins, my number flashed at window 72 and the guy was about to let me go but I reminded him about the payment for my daughter's visa. He asked if I was not told to pay before I had my fingerprinting and I told no. So, he asked me sit and wait. I waited for 20mins and he called my name. He gave me a yellow piece of paper and asked me to pay at the 2nd floor. Off I went with my baby in tow and paid at the cashier. Then, I went back to Window 72 and he asked me to wait for the official receipt since I told him I need one. After that, he said everything is in order and that I should go to window 69 for delivery instructions. I asked about my husband and he said I just need to have him scheduled for his interview.
Then, I went to window 69 and gave the lady the forms for the delivery of the passports. And I was informed that I can go home. That was around 10am. I was so happy despite being exhausted that I forgot to get my original documents. A friend from this forum told me I can ask for it to be delivered along with our passports.
Ok. That's about it. I hope I covered everything. Thanks to everyone and to God be the glory!

Hi guys!I wasn't able to get my original visascreen from the US embassy yesterday. Should I have an original at the port of entry? Thanks!
Hi Leis23, i think we saw you at the US Embassy, we have the same interview date. You had a baby girl and you wore a gray dress right? also the your baby's stroller was in gray as well right? Your baby was playing with a laminated paper and one time, during the consul interview, the paper that your baby was playing fell so you had to pick it up several times. I hope you were the same person that we saw during that day.
I wanted to ask you something, is there a way I can reach or email you? Hope to hear from you soon.
Congrats!
