I think that the Nursing Times is a waste of space and has been for a few years. They occasionally have a few good artciles but as you said, its expensive, especially when the internet provides better information. The only time its worth buying is when you are lookin for a course or job.
So, is it short on courses and jobs because there aren't any out there or is the internet being used instead these days?

I would say it is because there are no jobs but also a lot of hospitals post jobs on the nhs website http://www.jobs.nhs.uk/

It's the job section that's so thin now. If you check out old copies the article section is about the same size but the job section is tiny!

I used to buy it along with Nursing Standard , nowadays I just get Nursing Standard and visit NT online if I am researching something.

Anyone remember the Nursing Mirror? Think Nursing Times bought it out.
Have not bought NT for years. Waste of money in my opinion.

Once I qualified I only bought the NT for the job section. As a student I thought it was great, but once I had some expereince under my belt I thought that the educational sections were so basic, that they were mostly an insult to my intelligence.
Also has anyone given any thought to the fact that the NT, Nursing Standard and the RCN times are all published by the same group - after receiving the NT survey about the RCN ballot, I am now extrememly dubious about the RCN and this publishing group.
I used to get Professional nurse and enjoyed that but that went to the NT a couple of years back. Remember the nursing mirror also. Won't be buying the NT anymore

I always bought the nursing times when I was going for an interview-a quick read would get me up to par on all new topics without going into depth. Then because nothing really changes in nursing only the buzz words would elaborate on quality, audits blah blah blah.
I could always talk as if I kept upto date thanks to the nursing times lol.
