I thought it might be fun to have a little thread about nursing time travel; past and future.
The Story
One sunny day you are on your way home from a harrowing night shift, pts running amuck, sticky floors from who knows what, and a backache to challenge the toughest of massage therapists.
Suddenly you blow out a tire and find yourself on the side of the road. Man o man what a day!
As you reach in the trunk to grab out the crowbar and jackstand you notice a glimmer out of the corner of your eye. Being as belabored as you are, and the day being a beautiful one, you decide to investigate.
Meandering across a golden field of honey-wheat colored grass, you find the object of your attentions. A time machine! Slim and silver, with room for only one, you oddly decide to jump in and see what happens!
Deciding, logically, to not veer too much from the current date you set the time for 100 years in the past. Oddities and swirly special effects later you find yourself just outside the doors of an old army hospital. In front of you stands a stoic, but young looking nurse in army, nursing attire.
She peers at you with confusion, eying your bright colored scrubs and rubber Crocs.
A soft voice emanates from your time machine warning you that you will be transported back to your time in 60 seconds.
Your Task
What will you tell her about nursing in the future in that 60 seconds?
Will you warn her about diseases? Will you tell her to stand up for herself more? Will you tell her to quit now while she still can?
Let's assume, for simplicity that anything you tell her she will believe and will take to heart in her practice. How might this change the face of nursing in the future?
Have at it, have fun and if this thread is liked, I will write one up for a future prospect!
