when i first started school, i was diehard ER. was gonna work ER and that was it. was gonna go straight to ER and bypass all the other places like med/surg, ICU, etc.
THEN i got a taste of OR. oh man! i LOVED it! but not sure i want to do that "forever."
i'm still leaning with ER but i think my road trip to get there will be a little more indirect than i first planned.
i have an option of a 6 month critical care internship. i have thought of using that as a stepping stone to the ER. but also, the more i hear about needing a background in med/surg, i'm thinking i need that experience too, to be able to hone those assessment and time management skills.
anyway, the point is that i'm still going for ER. just don't know which path to take to get there.
Its peads for me cause over yonder in the UK we have to decide before we start the course cause we specialises from the start which may I add is the reason that I cant come and work in your fair country you lot don't recognise my qualification. (well unless i do an 18 months conversion in adult which i have no intention of doing) not fussed about what area but i did like ARU and hated theatre

Its a three year course and they will let you change till about a year down the line after that you have to repet some of the course after you change, but i link it this way cause i dont know if i would have even gone into nursing if i had to do three years of adult nursing before i could do childrens cause i have no intrest in doing adults. its always been peads for me:D

Ok I post this periodically because its fun to see how people change their minds throughout school. I know I've changed my mind 3 or 4 times so far, and I have 2 semesters left to go.
So.... where do you plan to work after graduation? What is your dream?
I think last time I posted this as a poll, and I left out a bunch of specialties, so I won't try it again.
Any ideas, anyone?
