12 hour shifts! OMG!! All that walking, standing, and sometimes running! I've had Crocs, Regular tennis shoes, Merrell running shoes... the list goes on!!! But what is the BEST nursing shoes to have out there? I've heard nurses talk about "Dancecoes". They look so uncomfortable... Hmm... What are your thoughts?? Experiences??

Danskos, hands down. Its the only shoe that I can wear where my feet, knees and back dont kill me after a 12h shift. They are totally worth the investment.

I love my Alegrias. Nice and cushy, you can replace the insoles as they wear out and they come in some great colors/patterns. And, they aren't as high as Danskos so if you have problems with turning your ankle (I do) they might be a good option.

I also tried them, but they didn't have the style I wanted in my size but the price was the same as Danskos. Only white for us and they only had the mary jane style :(

I did like the soles of them..

I swear by my new balance tennis shoes. I cannot wear Danskos because I have completely flat feet. I had a pair I could never get used to.

Looks like I have several options out there!! Haha thank yo uall for the input!

I really like Alegrias - they have this rocker sole (not flat) that helps me stand up straighter and relieve back pressure...I have a horrid posture when standing and walking. Sometimes I switch it up by wearing my Danksos, but after about two nights in a row wearing those babies my back and neck are really hurting.

In my opinion buy whatever sneakers you want and then buy REALLY good insoles. I have $40 sketchers and $50 insoles but I think danskos are uncomfortable and not worth the money.

Dankso is great!!!! Worn them for last 5 years

I alo have flat feet that is probably why I dislike danskos

Danskos hands down! They last over 5 years (if you don't get patent leather or prints) and get me through 12 hour shifts. If you're not sure about plunking down $125 for a pair, go into a store, figure out your size, and buy a used pair on ebay. I promise you, if they work for you the money won't be an issue the next time! I've bought used pairs for work, as they only get worn to work. But if you're a size wide or narrow, your only option is may be new and full price...

I have to wear orthaheel shoes -- they are a tennis shoe with an orthotic built in. Honestly find a pair that you like. A really good pair of shoes is a) hard to find & b) WELL worth the money! I gave looked at Danskos but I would have to put my orthotics in them. Good luck!

I love my Danskos, they do take some getting used to. I wore mine around at home before I actually wore them to work. The first couple of times I wore them at work I took an extra pair of shoes just in case. I really like Asics tennis shoes too.

Nike shox, always. They're pricey, but I only wear mine to work & they last about a year.
