Nursing schools in New Hampshire

Published

Hi Everyone, looking for some info on schools in New Hampshire. I am looking to move in the summer and would like to transfer a lot of my pre reqs. I Have been a CNA for 8 years at a hospital so also looking for reputable hospitals to work for starting as a cna. I am open to both an associate and bachelors degree program keeping cost down. Would like to live close to the mountains and the outdoors also. Any advice on schools and towns for a single 28 yr old outdoor professional would be greatly appreciated thank you!!

Hi, I live in the White Mountains of NH. Check out Associate Degrees | Certificate Programs | Online & Distance Learning - Community College System of New Hampshire this is will take you to a website about the community colleges in NH. They are located all around the state and all offer a nursing program. You can get to the individual college's websites off of that site. I see ads for LNA, which is NH's CNA often. If you are interested in the white mountains check out The Conway Daily Sun this is the newspaper for the Conway area and is free online. If you gave me an idea of the area of NH you are interested in I may be of more help I've lived here my whole life.

I've only lived in Conway, I'm not too familiar with southern NH. One place that I've heard good things about is Jaffrey, NH. That's near the mass border and I believe is rural but is pretty close to the city. The NH paper is called the union leader New Hampshire and Manchester news, weather, business and sports - New Hampshire's newspaper you can check out jobs and for rents on the website for all over NH.

Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH has a B.S.N. program. Colby-Sawyer was founded in the early 1800's. It is historically tied to Dartmouth College back when Dartmouth was an all men's school. Colby-Sawyer used to be the all female counterpart. It has been Co-Ed since the 1970's I believe.

What makes that program interesting is the opportunities to do clinicals at Dartmouth Hitchcock Regional Medical Center, one of the top research hospitals in the country.

Colby-Sawyer is about 40 minutes from Concord just off I-89.
