My biggest challenge has been trying to balance being married and having 4 kids. My housework/laundry has suffered the most but it's worth it in the long run. I have a great family and they all support me in this adventure. I just can't stay up all night and study. I won't remember a thing I've studied. I usually go to bed around 10:30-11:00 and get up at 4:30 to study before everyone else gets up. My brain is fresh, it's quiet and I don't have to feel guilty about everyone tip-toeing around me. A quick shower and a pot of coffee and I'm good to go.
Sleep is probably the most important thing you need. If you get good sleep you will be better focused, retain more in lecture, and do better on exams. An extra hour of sleep will benefit you more than an extra hour of studying if you aren't getting enough. Try to study the most effective way that works for you so you can study less, and organize and do your time management the most efficient way so you can put sleep as a priority.
now, that i'm in nursing school, after hearing so many things about how hard it is. it's not really as bad as everyone says. i can deal with not having a social life (parties) but, i don't know if i can deprive myself of sleep any longer. the work load,staying up until 3a.m. studying isn't working! i'm always tired(i need my beauty sleep, lol ) any advice, wisdom, suggestions would be appreciated.what's been your biggest challenge in nursing school?
thanks =)
learning how to teach myself difficult material bc one of my teachers doesnt teach very well.
other than that..iim ok. ill sleep when im dead:lol2:
You need to find some way to organize your time, split up your work so you're not staying up so late every night... Go to class, do the required readings or read that chapter AHEAD of class, so once you get to class you already have the basic knowledge and don't need to memorize the notes each night.
