Hi everyone,
For those of you that completed your interview and got into your school's nursing program, could you please list some of the interview questions you were asked? I'm trying to prepare as much as I can for the nursing school interview ahead of time, and I've already searched up the questions I found on this website. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

so I had my interview and ended up getting into the university of colorado....my interview was really short but they asked the following questions:
1 what have you done to prepare for nursing school (financially, family, work, etc)
2 what traits do you find the most critical in a person ( respect, honor etc) and why
3 what are your interests outside of school
i also had this question during an onsite essay (following the initial essay)
why do you think communication is key to the medical profession
all in all it wasnt as stressful as i thought it would be. just be honest and be yourself and you will do great.

All the basic stuff... why do you want to be a nurse? Why did you choose this school to go to?
One thing that I will say for overall advice... being a nurse is more than just knowing lots of medical terms/conditions etc. Its a passion - and thats something you want to make sure the interviewer hears. They love nurses that volunteer and that are involved in their community. So I would say something like " I chose nursing because BLAH BLAH BLAH and also the addition of really making a difference in my community. Either it be through volunteer work or by being involved in nursing communities and seminars".

I was asked a total of ten questions, and it was several months ago so I will do my best to remember:
1. In 30 seconds, name the three most important character traits a nurse should have.
2. A patient is a fall risk and trying to get out of bed on his own, there is a call light on, and another patient needs to use the restroom. Prioritize these tasks.
3. Friend "A" tells you something that she wishes to remain between you two. Friend "B" who is your lifelong best friend asks what friend "A" told you. What do you do?
4. You are in a hospital elevator, going to visit your father who is a patient there. You overhear a dr and nurse talking about your father in the elevator. What do you do?
5. You are scheduled to work the night before a test. You have not studied much and to top that off you have a ten page paper due on the same day that you have not started. What do you do?
I am having trouble remembering the others right now... All in all, they didn't have a lot to do with patient care or health knowledge. The questions were more or less a test of ethics and character. You'll do great!
Thanks guys :)
