I'm contemplating between Navarro College and Tarrant County for ADN program but I'm a little confused why the curriculum at Navarro doesn't seem to include any maternal-newborn classes/clinicals which is a huge turn off for me because my ultimate intentions are to become a L&D nurse.

Aren't there a chunk of questions on the NCLEX you might need to have taken this class to answer?

I'm just a little confused. Here is the link to the courses if anyone wants to take a shot to tell me when and if that topic would even be covered (scroll to bottom)

Navarro College - Registered Nurse Associate Degree Nursing- A.A.S

Specializes in CTICU/ER/Dialysis.

It says "care of children and childbearing families". Thats the class you're looking for. To confirm for yourself you can look at at course description.

Specializes in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner.

It will be included in Care of Children and Families

Specializes in mental health / psychiatic nursing.

Different schools may label courses differently. I never took a "maternal/newborn" class but the material one would expect in that course was strongly interwoven through other courses. I'd dig deeper into the course descriptions - as others have noted at this college the information you are looking for is probably incorporated into "Children and Families" coursework.
