Reasons why *I* feel nursing school can SOMETIMES be a drag:
1) Weight gain/loss that is unwelcome
2) Breaking out like you're going through puberty again
3) Lack of sleep (6 hours sounds good)
4) 200 hours of studying and only 2 days to complete it
5) You are inclined to feel clueless and severely inexperienced
6) Crappy Administration and/or Nursing Staff
7) Cheaters
8) Classroom Politics & B.S. "Cliques"
9) Cattiness
10) Backstabbing
11) Gossiping
12) Watching those who commit #7-11 succeed equally as well as you do. WHAT A KICKER!
Has anyone been in a nursing program that they hated so much they would given anything to transfer
on to another one? Just a random question.
I'm in my mid-20s and I cannot help but to notice how terrible the nursing school environment is. I have been in college before and it just doesn't compare to nursing school. I have never dealt with so many backstabbing, gossiping, cheating, ungrateful, catty people in my LIFE. And much to your surprise, they are NOT all women! I'm sick of my college. We pay over $23k per year and the administration treats us like dirt. There is NO loyalty when it comes to us and we are blatantly lied to almost on a daily basis...and even though I get along with my class as a whole, I would say it's more that I "tolerate" them because I'm slightly easygoing. I have never met so many two-faced, shameless, jealous, shady people in my LIFE before. It creeped up out of NO WHERE!
I'm sick of my nursing program. Sick of the people who are jealous of those who make good grades..and SICK of those same people who feel they have a right to copy off their papers or pressure them into "sharing". I go to college with , generally, a bunch of flippin' idiots. That felt better. Thanks for letting me vent. I'm just shaking my head thinking that I have to go here for another 1.5 years potentially. I'm doing everything I can to transfer, but I'm not sure how easy that will be. I'm finished with my LPN portion of my program this summer.
I just had to get this off my chest. You do not have to agree with me lol. I have already started to tell my classmates some of this. If they are gonna be hateful, they will be hateful knowing the truth from me! I don't have a problem either. Done a lot of that "blunt" talk this week. lol

Listen, I don't need you to tell me anything. I am ready for whatever nursing school may bring. My husband, son and daughter are counting on me and come hell or high waters, I will make it though. So lets not assume the "if you make it in", it's WHEN I make it in. So thank you again, but I don't need your cryptic little warnings. I'm ready. Bring it the hell on.
I certainly hope that whatever profession you decide to pursue, nursing or not, that you show a little more class and poise then you are showing on this blog.
FLgirl06, I wish you the best with nursing school. You have a good attitude towards it, which is probably half the battle. I sincerely hope you're able to maintain that throughout the program. Good luck. :)
AllThingsPink is VERY nice to say this. I don't agree. I feel FLgirl06 will be eaten ALIVE. IMHO, her personality seems extremely unstable. But I do wish her the best of course!
I totally wish that was possible. I'm not sure where to start. These people have quite the mentality and not a lot of shame when it comes to cheating, mooching, and starting drama. My school is in The Bronx and I swear to G they make them different here. It's pathetic to see how much this entire class talks behind their friends back (I've heard EVERY SINGLE one of them)...not that I care..but I hate having to constantly fight to make sure I'm not caught up in the mix. In our classes you have to interact a lot..no way around it...it would be so nice to not have to deal with people lol. Thanks so much for your reply :)
This is kind of OT, but I was born in The Bronx, and my moved to Texas when I was 9. I always wondered how I would have turned out had I stayed there. Perhaps I would have turned out like your classmates? I can't imagine having to deal with all this BS in school. It's hard enough to not drown in all the work, let alone deal with backstabbing peeps. I was exceptionally lucky to have a pretty cool class. Sorry you're having to deal with all this. Hang in there, it will end, and then you never have to deal with any of them ever again (hopefully)!

I think the people who are attacking the OP and others who support the OP, took it personal because it struck a nerve to them. The OP and summer weren't insulting or attacking anyone, but the people who took it personal, starting personally attacking specific members(such as nurse and FL did). I don't post on this forum to often(I lurk a lot) and trust me the way the OP, summer, and others feel isn't unique and there are many others who can totally identify with them.

I was beginning to think it was a regional thing. I do feel it is more intense here. I am not from this area and find it totally unacceptable. I will never get "used" to it. I'm a very moral person,tbh. Thank You for your support!
