i am a lpn student finishing in Oct 2008 & planning on bridging to RN-ADN program in Jan 2009 i want to know if it is neccesary for me to get my BSN i want to specialize in ICU, telemetry, Med/surg areas, CCU

Pay isn't great in the Tamps/St. Petersburg area for new grads. All Children's Hospital is the lowest paying hospital starting at $20.12/h and only $1.50 weekend differential. Tampa General just upped their pay by $3 or $4 an hour, however I don't know what the starting pay was.

does any one knows what's the salary you have if you accept an scholar program, for example from Jackson? they offer to pay my classes, my books and uniforms but I have to work for then two years after graduation....what would be my salary those two years?????

at Jackson it's 6 for nights and 2.75 for weekends

There's always the option of becoming a professor if you have your Nurse Practicioner credentials. I have a professor who is great and she has definitely inspired me to be a great nurse.

As for the salaries, they are very competitve in South Florida...especially closer to the Miami area.

hi evryone can anyone answer if florida gives a real license card even though you dont have a SSN?? i'm planning to transfer my files (NCLEX_RN) from california to florida.. does florida accept it without showing SSN?

Off topic to the thread but if I remember rightly No Florida doesn't give license without SSN and after checking the BON website out (best thing to do) the answer is NO

5)Before a license can be issued, the licensee must have a social security number (SSN). The SSN is not required to complete the application process and take the NCLEX exam.
