HESI RN exit on resumé

New grad here, I've passed the NCLEX-RN and it's time to start applying to jobs. I have experience as an EMT, but aside from that, my experience basically involves nursing clinicals and my senior preceptorship. Great for a resumé, right? Not exactly. I did score the highest grade my school has ever had on the HESI RN exit exam. My score was 1160, conversion score 99.99% and my percentile was 98.88. Is it tacky to put this on my resumé? Will a hospital take this score into account? My GPA is only a 3.21 which is mediocre.

Hi there. So what did you end up doing? I have similar scores of 1167, conversion score of 99.99%, and ranking score of 98.98%. I have been a stay at home mom for 13 years and need all I can get for a resume. My GPA is 3.5.

I don't think a HESI score will really mean anything on a resume, but your GPA is something that might be more meaningful to a recruiter or hiring manager. HESI isn't universally used, and isn't necessarily any indicator of how you will perform on the job. To the OP, take a look at the jobs that you are applying for and tailor your resume to them by rewording your own experience to match the job you're applying to. ATS trackers don't actually look at the amount of experience you have, but rather how much your own resume matches the job that they're trying to fill.

GPA is also not useful. In fact, Google (as a company) has a wealth of data they shared that it has no meaningful impact on a person's ability to do their job, particularly once you are a year or two out of school. Please don't add your HESI score, it's useless to me when I'm interviewing a candidate. I'm more concerned with your drive, your personality, your experiences, and your thought processes. I can teach you to be a good nurse, but I can't teach you to be a good employee. Show me you can do that and your golden, but don't rely on numbers.

I take my exit in a few days. We switched from ATI to Hesi. Could you please tell me what you did to pass?
