Hello Everyone!
So I thought It might be funny and uplifting at the same time to hear from some of my fellow nursing students about their professors. Are they awesome? Do they make your blood curdle? Describe the best and the worst and maybe we can all relate!

I'm starting in the fall, so I have no idea yet, so I looked up all my professors on ratemyprofessor.com, and I've noticed the same professor has soo many different reviews. Yes some are consistently good, and others are mixed. What one person calls horrible, stubborn, is another persons favorite teacher of all time lol.... I think a lot of it matters on the students own attitude. From past experiences, I have loved the hard professors. They make you put in the effort and earn your grade. Others, are easier and make every effort to help you along, each one has their own style... I honestly don't know what to expect, but I can only go in to class and control how I perform, the rest is what it is.

Too bad there's not a website to rate your students on....

I wish there was a site to rate students on! I think it'd be nice to get legit feedback- anonymously. Every semester professors have to do a "student evaluation" at my schools, but it's never genuine- always really nice never give you feedback.
That would be interesting to read! I guess until one is created we'll just have to rely on grades and clinical evaluations....
Congratulations! I hope you rock nursing school! You're right though, all you can control is yourself. You'll find that nursing school is quite different than any other courses you've taken and it'll take awhile to adjust, but as long as you keep your head above water you'll do fine. What type of program are you starting?

No way on God's green earth would I even anonymously post anything about my professors until I graduated! (Two semesters left). I'm an "err on the side of caution" person though. My luck, it would be all over social media, traced back to me, end up in the local paper, and a police chase would ensue somewhere along the way.

This made me giggle
THANK YOU! I already have my bachelors, I was initially going for an accelerated program, that was 1 year long, but decided to do the 2 year second degree BSN program at a closer and just as expensive school lol

Really? Our feedbacks are pretty genuine, sometimes even nitpicky.
I can honestly say my professors, aside from the sometimes questionable exam questions that they come up with, are wonderful ladies (no guy instructors), and just downright good human beings. They each have their quirks, but who doesn't? I've made errors (thankfully nothing life threatening or even serious) in clinical where I was sure I was going to get an earful, and every time they've been nurturing, educational, supportive. We don't have that "instructor from Hell" in the roster cause objectively, they're just not there. I know a lot of my classmates complain/whine, but from what I have learned so far, nursing school is what you make of it. There are certainly days when I start to wander off into the dark side and start blaming others, but I yank myself back into reality.

Some were amazing, some nearly made me pull all my hair out in frustration. Most were more likeable or at least understandable once I graduated and entered the workforce; I could actually appreciate them for their skills and knowledge, which as a student, I just didn't have the perspective to do.
There is still a definite eating of young culture that is thankfully diminishing, but I was lucky and seemed to have been spared most if it.
