Seven years is one of the generous time limits, many schools are now placing a three year limit. Hurts if you get behind because you're waiting on a lottery pick or a waiting list. Have you checked with all of the programs in your area? You might have better luck with the entire process if you apply to all available programs.
Thanks a ton for your info...I spent the morning with my advisor who said PCC nursing program actually requires your sciences to be less than 7 years old...I was very relieved!! I work with a few people who are instructors in the program and really want to stick with this one. They know me and have worked with me and know my work ethic and dedication. thanks a million u guys:D
I can't speak for all schools, but the ones around here require that the sciences are taken within a certain time frame (some are 5 yrs, some 7) but your English, humanities etc are never "expired" so to speak.
I have to retake almost all my sciences! Mine are WAY over the 7 year timeframe. I took a peek through my college A&P book and the word AIDS and HIV aren't mentioned...not once.

The nursing program that im applying to states that prereqs must be at least 7 yo, BUT final decision is up to the board upon application. all of my sciences (A&P1, A&P2, micro) are less than 7 yo. even college algebra. I have been employed as a CNA for 6 years on medical cardiology at my local hospital. I have maxed out my potential education within my field, ie: phlebotomy, telemetry cert., preceptorship. I know this will weigh heavily on my application, BUT what are the chances of them making me RETAKE my english, humanities, and all the rest?? im a single mother and was unable to get back to school after having my daughter therefore adding some "age" to some of my prereqs. any ideas?? suggestions???
