my date is in feb '08. i am a nervous wreck already, but happy at the same time...(the waiting just about killed me :icon_wink: )

Best to focus on what you can control: the steps of the labs and your knowledge of the critical elements. Any clinical examiner can have a bad day, but all the worrying in the world won't change that - and there are mechanisms in place to address those issues.

true true true...for some stupid reason i'd feel better if someone would say...i tested there, i had a good experience, make sure you know your stuff...that's all...

Congrats on getting your date, wishing you the best of luck.

Hate it when people say they had a bad experience at a site, I kinda wanna ask, "so what did the others think". You can't really listen to one person, now a bunch of testers came on saying the same thing then we can fairly make judgements. If I had listened to one person, I would not have joined EC and look what I'd be missing.

true ... actually all the people i talked to passed their cpne, this girl was the only one that failed, and she was so hard on herself...she really thought it was all her fault, she was traumatized by the whole thing and never tried to take it again. i tried my best to get her to go back..i am not lying, she knows her stuff, she just got nervous and if the examiners would have been "nicer" she would have been able to show them she deserved to pass. a good instructor/teacher want their students to succeed, i know that from my dad, he used to be a professor. and if you get nervous, i see it as THEIR job to help you get over it and show what you really know.

i am going to shut up now...still waiting for someone to share their experience at st joseph's with me...be it good or bad.

I really believe that those who don't pass yell louder than those that do pass....so many of the horror stories are just that (stories at best)! All the sites are fairly equal....my friend tested in Racine and failed only one PCS...another passed in NY....and I passed in Atlanta (all in the same time frame). We compared our experiences and they were similar. The one guy in my group was totally unprepared and we all knew he was going down...and when he did he posted all over the study groups how unfair it all was BUT he didn't even know his CE's! duh!!! You are right it is how you approach it...and from the looks of it I doubt you will go in unprepared--so don't worry about the site (know your stuff)!!!! You can do it!!!!

wow...i was surprised to find this...

pedinurse: "It all depends on where you go, your level of prep, and most likely the examiners. I do believe as some have said it does depend on the examiner. Just study and do your best."

Good luck ! I am sure you will do great!

Keep us posted. Have you been to one of the cpne workshops.

to take that one single comment and post like that is taking it out of context. If you read the ENTIRE thread you will see that many times i said the exam was by the book....in this small excerpt i was agreeing that it could be possible, in some instances, that an examiner may play a role in the ultimate decision....as with any exam...and human nature ultimately....to error is human EVEN with examiners....but as a total the exam is by the book and conducted fairly equal at all their sites. Please don't take excerpts and blow them up....read the entire thread. geez
