Now I'm Paralyzed

Nursing Students Online Learning

Everything for my CPNE applicatin is done aside from a passport photo and health form. That'll will be complete by next Thursday.

NOW I'm nervous. NOW I'm scared! NOW I'm second guessing the whole nursing thing.

Go here: http://www.courseyenterprises.com/

Click on "student login" on the top menu bar. The user name is excelsior and the password is k1411 -- log in and buy your bag. :) I bought the bag that was the "Excelsior CPNE Kit W/Simulation Wound."

People also sell them on eBay, but I just went ahead and bought the kit from the vendor.

I'm better today.

Something happened that just made me angry, though. I got an e-mail from Excelsior saying that if the wait for my test requires ANOTHER annual student fee they'll be kind enough to defer it. Not waive it, defer it.

I believe you're allowed to apply that annual student services fee to your graduation fee if you're ONLY waiting for a CPNE date and your enrollment anniversary comes around. I'm hoping to NOT test that theory -- my anniversary comes around in July, and I want to test before that! :)

Mine is also July. May we both be done well before that!

I like that it applies to grad fees, but I don't recall seeing that in the letter. Which, of course, I deleted.

Yes, I hope we are both done!! :) I'm not going to ask for a cancellation date, though.

I don't know if they'd put that in the letter, but if I'm not mistaken, people have been able to do that when they complained about the wait time and having to pay that annual fee only because they were waiting. If it happens, it's worth checking into! ;)

CPNE is not hard Sue but it is stressful because of what everyone says. It's basically all a mind game. I'll PM you some organizational help. Best of luck. Been there, done that. Nov 2000. Best thing I ever did for myself.

:D :D :D

Sorry, Sue... but I remember only too well that sudden, NEW feeling!

You'll do fine Sue. Take it one step at a time, don't think about the whole thing, it'll be overwhelming. Break it up to bitesized goals. Think about your plan in smaller chunks.

YOU WILL BE OKAY!!!

Good advice. Small goals.

Yep.. been there, too. Never again. :rotfl:

Go in with a smile and confidence. Even if you're not "feeling" it.. keep smiling, tell yourself you know how to do this, and will succeed. It helps. ACT as though you've done this stuff routinely all your life.. that helps with the nerves.

I'm soooooooooooooo glad it's you and not me. :chuckle

Thanks so much, everyone!

jnette, :p ;)

dutchgirl, I got your notes and am formatting them into a nice Word document. They look fabulously helpful!

Oy.

Do you know, there isn't a single skill listed that I haven't done and done properly. But now I'm being graded on them!

Lunah, I did ask for a cancellation date, and told them nothing before 3/1. That way I can take the next workshop in Albany. I'm really lucky to be under two hours to Albany. At least, for Excelsior purposes. :w00t:

And again, thanks, everyone. I don't know if I would have come this far without the support and encouragement of my friends on this site.
