Hi, I was just accepted to chamberlain for March 2007. I was wondering if anyone else will be starting then? I was also wondering if any of you who started in october would be willing to share your opinion of the program. Thanks
All I can say is good luck to those of you just accepted to Chamberlain. I hope you are all in the Missouri area. I live in Tennessee. I've been attending there since 10/2006 online. I was supposed to start clinicals right now but all of a sudden...so they say, Tennessee is no longer accepting them. So now they want to withdraw me and I've been sent an offer to refund all my tuition and $1000 to keep my mouth shut. The trouble is....I was on the Dean's List.......they forget that for almost a year I have put my life into this program. Anyone in nursing school knows...it is your life. I begged them to let me come to St.Louis for a couple of weeks at a time to do clinicals (at my expense even) They said I had no option and they were withdrawing me. I've cried as much as I can cry. I've retained an attorney. Like I said.......Good luck to ya'll.
That was the first thing my attorney asked me to find out! I emailed and called dozens of nursing schools......all have said no, they won't transfer. Most schools have nursing programs that you get accepted into and complete. In other words, I've been told that the classes intermingle with one another. As for Chamberlain/DeVry credits......no one has told me they accept the credits. If you knew how much I studied and how hard I worked at the classes and tests and nursing care plan and essays and going to St.Louis for validations........you would understand why I'm so upset with them. Thanks for the email.
Congrats on finding what is best for you and your family! That sometimes is the biggest hurdle. The issues with Chamberlain certainly brought me to pause and reflection.
Best of luck to you!
Best of luck to you as well!!! I feel so relieved now that I've made my decision.
hospicetec, I am really sorry that you are going through this with Chamberlain. I wish you the best also!!!!
NikNik, congrats with your decision- I am glad to see you have found what works for you, I know from other posts you were really worried about Chamberlain..........and being in the program I can totally understand why you would be.....7/16 I start my 3rd semester in the ASN online program. Kris, you were in my classes-I actually emailed you regarding homeschooling. I have to say even as a student in Missouri, Chamberlain is STRESSFUL. If I did not have so much $$ sunk in student loans, I would walk away. A girl in my last semester went to Jewish and they will accept her nursing classes, which is great, but I just do not think I can do the day program with 3 children and a husband who travels. Today I need to place another call to the school , imagine that-I received a box full of ATI books........I have heard people mention ATI, but do not know what it is-anyone know? Plus I still have not gotten my printed schedule, but this has been normal...........anyway, it is a struggle, but as long as I pass the NCLEX at the end it will ALL be worth it!

I have heard good things about ATI also. I have a friend that just graduated from In-class at Chamberlain and said it was great. I am looking into Chamberlain, Jewish and SLU. I've heard bad things about Jewish also so who knows which way to go. It seems that those that have had one bad experience become negative about the whole experience. I think its what we make of it. With exception for those being in the middle of a program and told that is over. Couldn't imagine. WOW
thank you so much about the info for the ATI! Is it only Chamberlain that does this, or do other Nursing schools have these tests?
About Jewish, a girl from my last semester(her second in Chamberlain too) decided not to return this next semester and is starting Jewish in January. She said that Jewish actually has taken her nursing classes, which I was surprised to hear!
