I submitted my application for license endorsement last June 25, 2013 and until now, I am still waiting.... They are 3-4 weeks late in opening mails and if they need more information or requirements from you, it will take another 15-20 working days before you can get an update on you status. My last update was in August 28 stating that the files have been sent to paralegal for review of the rules and requirements of my previous license in another state and it has been more that 2 weeks now and I still got nothing.... I did apply for a temporary permit but the process has basically defeated the purpose. I hope this info can help you picture out how long it will take... ?
So. if anyone can just enlighten me just what the WI board are trying to accomplish with the review, please... i really would appreciate it. i really thought that NCLEX has standardized the 50 states here in the US with regards to nurses. So I am not sure what kind of discrepancy they are trying to avoid before issuance of license since all my state licenses have been verified and all clean..

Wow well said michelle0824! They are doing the same thing to me, needing a copy of rules and regulations from my original state of licensure, I think that's a really odd request from an applicant as well. And what's more my other state license is a compact one! It seems like that doesn't help at all.
To black.pumps: I'm a foreign grad as well, so of course they want a CGFNS CES or CP report, fine, I'm working on that, however CGFNS is requesting a license validation form from Romania AGAIN, since the one they've got is more than 3 years old...I think that doesn't make a bit of sense, since I have a diploma degree that NEVER expires...sigh
CGFNS states it's because WI wants it, they couldn't waive the requirement. It's super hard to get these forms filled out in Romania( in english), I've contacted the appropriate authorities and am greatly ignored so far..
Anyways in addition to this WI wants their own form filled out by the school that I graduated from, so that's 2 forms from impossible Romania ( ignored by the school as well)!!
Why all this fuss? I have passed the NCLEX, have a CES file, I am licensed to practice in the US, what more does WI want???
so annoyed..

Good luck! I have just been granted the ability to test from the Wisconsin board, granted I'm not a rn yet or a from a different state but I applied in may to test and was approved last week after my review and having to go to the board. Very frustrating.
