3 nursing jobs in 2 years. Unhirable?

Published

Without getting into too much detail:

I've had 3 jobs.

1. Assisted living facility: Fired after 2 years

2. Clinic: Quit after 3 months

3. Assistant living facility: Fired after 3 months

My resume looks bad. I wanted to not include my last job but when recruiters ask what I did during those 3 months, i reallly don't know what to say. I really don't want to discuss why I got fired (you can view my post to see how bad of a nursing I am).

At at my Core, I love my job and feel that with all the lessons I've learned, I will be a great fit someone else if given the opportunity. I am working for an agency as a per diem nurse and my job was cancelled this morning. I am afraid of not being able to pay my bills.

Thanks to to all in advance

That's what nurses do

Don't get it twisted. She offered help but then she started getting spiteful. Told her to stop messaging me and she kept messaging me. I told her I no longer wanted her help. But whatever

If you've been fired from "every job" you've had, then the problem is YOU. I think whoever told you that counseling wouldn't help is full of it. You absolutely need counseling to help you identify the behaviors/attitudes that are contributing to your inability to make strong connections, to keep a job, to stick with something, and succeed. If you got through nursing school, you clearly are not stupid. But something about your personality and coping skills is getting in the way. If you have clinical depression and anxiety, you need help with those from people who have dedicated years to learning about these conditions and have a track record of actually helping people overcome them.

I hope you can get a job that you find fulfilling, but remember, wherever you go, there you are.

"Do what you've always done and you'll get what you always got." If you tried counseling and it didn't help, you had the wrong counselor. Not necessarily a bad one, just not the right one for you. Keep looking for the better fit.

If you lash out at work like you have done here, it's no surprise why you have never been able to keep a job. It's unprofessional and will only lead to future firings if you don't take control of that.

Healthcare doesn't care about you, just the money. Which is why no counseling has helped. I'm just a sarcastic person. I'm not everyone's cup of tea. I get that. I really don't care if people like me or not. I n her had a problem making and maintaining relationships at work.

Any plans for job hunting today?

No I spent all day watching Netflix and then I plan to skydive later

That is patently FALSE. Herein lies part of the problem.

Nope it's the truth. That's one thing that sucks about being in healthcare. You see the other side of the story. You see how insurance works. You see how people get treated with low incomes. It burns me up. I hate how money driven this world is.

You've spoken about how you care for your patients. You are in healthcare. Most of us on this thread are in healthcare. Most of us care very deeply for our patients too, even though we expect to be paid. You are NOT THE ONLY ONE who cares. That's a pretty arrogant position to take.

Just as productive as spending all this time answering each and every response to your repetitive threads on AN. Yet again we see that the attitude that is part of your problem is showing. Good thing you stayed home today, prospective employers can pick up on a negative attitude without making the first reference call. BTW, your snide and snarky response to my well-intended attempt to follow a line of discourse is not appreciated. I'll bet I am not the only one who you have turned off on you lately. Good luck in finding just the answers you are looking for.

I'm not about to go into detail about this. Just kno healthcare is business. We just work in it

Give me a break. I got my RN 22 years ago. There are plenty of caring providers in "healthcare."
