Nursing jobs for people over 60

Specializes in hospice.

Would anyone recommend some good matches of nursing jobs for people over 60 years old? Specifically, some things to do that are not so physically demanding. Thanks.

Hello Aesopian -

I work in the substance use / recovery field.    Absolutely not physically demanding in any way.   And it's truly rewarding to see people change their lives for the better 🙂

We have nurses of all ages.

Specializes in orthopedic/trauma, Informatics, diabetes.

I turned 60 last year. I work bedside ortho. I was thinking of wound care. I never thought I would but it seems I am the "go to" person for lots of things. I have a new jon and most of the staff has not had a lot of experience with ostomies. I am the dork with my own ostomy scissors  🤣   I was also looking into diabetes education or pain. Right now I still love my job and am able to do it. I may need knee sx so I have to start looking at options.

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

I am well over 60 and work as APRN. I went back to grad school at 48 years and been working 19 years as APRN and plan to work til I'm at least 70.

Specializes in Certified Wound, Ostomy & Continence Nurse.

I am over 65 working as a Clinical Nurse Manager and Educator in home care.  I see other mature nurses working in Performance Improvement.  We even have some mature nurses in the field seeing patients.

I'm 67 and work in home care where I can choose my patients and hours. This helps enourmously.

I'm under 30 but I've work with some senior nurses.

Specializes in ER.

I'm retired,  but wanted to keep my nursing going. Subbing as a school nurse and loving it.
