So I was offered a job, but somehow I'm skeptical..

Nurses Job Hunt

I don't know I'm skeptical, but the manager that interviewd me called today and offered me the ER job of my dreams and said HR will contact me this week, and call them if they didn't.

Do I have the job? Or HR has to approve of it?

I don't know how this process work, can anyone give me an insight on how things usually go after you get offered a job? can it be taken away from you by the HR and get rejected?

I feel the same way when I did the PVT after taking my NCLEX, got the good pop up and still was worried i didn't pass, lol...

Did you verbally accept the job when you spoke to the manager? This doesn't sound out of the ordinary to me. It's HR/recruitment's job to find candidates for the unit manager to interview. The manager interviews and decides who they want to hire based on his or her unit's needs, and then passes the buck back to HR. HR will handle all the paperwork, offer letter, employment process, etc. The manager is too busy running their unit to deal with all of that! And some HR departments are very busy, so it may take a while before you hear something from them.

Congratulations!

I did accept!!! Okay great, so HR will only handle the rest of the process but I'm surely hired then? I don't have a criminal background.

If you don't hear in 5 business days, call HR. But give them time!!!

Best wishes!!!

same thing happened to me, HR will call ya, if it a busy place it may take them a while to call.

give it a week, good luck and congrats!

The manager chooses the candidate that they want to hire and sends the information to HR. HR has to contact you to set up your orientation/pre-employment paperwork, physical, etc. HR can be really busy, so it sometimes takes them longer to do this. You got the job. Congratulations.

I'm happy now, the manager asked me to call HR on monday if they haven't called yet. So i'm going to go in and ask on Monday..
