Published

Hello Everyone,

I came across this member directory list for the National Association for Health Care Recruitment. This is a list of nurse recruiters in all 50 states from various hospitals. I thought this could be beneficial to lots of graduate nurses like myself currently looking to become employed. I hope this helps.:D

That is so awesome that you posted this. This will definitely help people out who are looking for jobs!

Thankyou for posting this, Im very desperate. To those that contacted the recruiters....did you write them a message & send them your cover letter? I want to make sure I approach them the correct way & make the right impression.

I basically wrote the recruiters saying I was newly licensed registered nurse looking for my first nursing job and after researching the facility's website I thought it would be a great place for me to hone my clinical skills. I spiced it up and made it sound really good [ giggles ] I also asked were there any grad nurse positions and IF not did they have any positions that they would take a new nurse in. I found out a lot of times that although many positions required one year of experience they would hire a new nurse in that position. Good Luck with your search !

Thank you SO MUCH for posting that link!!!! It's extremely helpful. From what I understand, rather than sending a cover letter, you sent an email that kind of functioned as one....? And you didn't attach your resume, correct? Did you give them your phone number as well, or just kept it to email communication? I want to make sure I approach this in the right way so would greatly appreciate your advice. Thanks!

I did not attach a copy of my resume or cover letter. I basically just told them about myself, the positions I showed interest in, why I chose to seek employment at there facility, etc. I was not applying for a position so I did not see my resume or cover letter being relevant until I received feedback saying well we have this on our site that may interest you and so forth. I definitely asked questions about the one year of experience because I found out that some hospitals would take new grads that they were advertising to experience nurses. Also, sell yourself because you do have experience --- your clinical rotations and a practicum [ if the school you attended did that ]. When it comes to the actual application make sure you have your transcript, letters of recommendations, certificates, and list everything you did while in college that shows character, academic performance, etc. I hope that helped.

Excellent advice, thank you so much!!!! :yeah:

I decided to BUMP this thread due to me seeing that there are still GNs looking to be hired. This is how I obtained my job by writing nurse recruiters after apply for positions at their hospitals. I hope this helps :)

This is awesome. Thanks a lot for sharing. It's really tough out there for new grads like me with no prior experience and having only an Associates degree. I live close to NYC and no one is hiring here. Please please please let me know if there are any opportunities out there. I'm searching far and wide and no luck so far. I'll even relocate if needed.

Thanks for such an excellent advice.

This is great, I just don't see any nursing recruiters in the Greater Boston area on the list, does anyone know the contact information for nursing recruiters at hospitals such as Mass General Hospital, Brigham and Women's, etc?
