Moving this to the Australasian forum. You will probably get more replies there but it might take a few days.

THANKS FOR MOVING ME TO THE RIGHT PLACE, I'M VERY NEW AT THIS SORT OF THING. BE GENTLE!!

We certainly will. You just might need to wait a little while for one of our NZ colleagues to come on the board:D

P.S. Please don't type in caps - it sounds like shouting

If your looking for a position in New Zealand as a nurse you should call Andrew Morgan at Mercury Consulting group, or email him at mercuryrecruit. He is excellent and has heaps of vacancies..

Cheers

Welcom Medic 98 tell me - do you have any info on NZ websites i.e. special interest groups etc.?

What would yo ulike to know... as in NZ recruitment websites etc ?

There are many wesites to look on in NZ for medical positions. such as

mercuryrecruit.co.nz

seek.co.nz.

nzjobs.co.nz

But if you call Andrew at Mercury he will sort everything for you, like registration, positions the whole works.

Thanks for the info, i'll definitely check these websites out. My main concern was that i'd need to convert my diploma training to a degree before coming to NZ, but from the info i've found so far it seems as if this wont be necessary.

Now i just need to qualify in UK, work for a year, and then i'll be on my way!

A degree isn't necessary as long as you are on the register of nurses, but it may pay to check out the particular areas you want to work in before making the decision to come without one. My boss said to me when I was looking at doing the bridging course to a degree a few years ago - why do you want to do that I won't pay you anymore. On the otherhand he is the first one to volunteer me for courses/education that he thinks would be to our/my advantage so he isn't anti-advancement. Other jobs I have looked at a degree would be an advantage.

The Genova Agency has sent us really gogod nurses from the UK...maybe try them out too....some companies like Capital & Coast District Health Board and Hutt ValleyDistrict Health here in Wellington will actually assist you to get here...both have their own web sites..good luck
