It is my opinion that Nursing Home or LTC Nurses, dont use any of their medical skills, aside from passing meds, and supervising Aides? I hope when I finish Nursing school in 15 months hospital jobs are still available!!!

That is not true. The only difference is we can't use assess we used observed or noted.

Who do you think is doing assessments? Or wound care? Or managing the client receiving IV fluids? I hope when you finish nursing school in 15 months you will have lost that huge chip off of your shoulder...

I don't think the OP meant to sound as offensive as they did. OP, I encourage you to talk with multiple LTC and Home Care Nurses. You'll find that nursed working in different areas, states, agencies, facilities, May have different responsibilities. In my experience I most see these types of nurses passing mess and assisting with assessments. I also see them doing g-tube care, is ostomy care, wound care etc.... There may be certain skills they might not get to use as much, but they do use many if their procedural clinical skills in my observation.
