Nursing Graduate from the Philippines

:nurse: i'm so confused!! could someone here on this forum give me the best advice and latest infos regarding my problem???.... i'm a nursing graduate from the philippines but a citizen in one of the european union countries. "should i first need to take and pass the local nursing board in the philippines prior to nclex???" i don't need a visa and can travel to the united states anytime just to take the nclex. i'll be truly greatful if someone here can share me some infos. i'm awaiting for your message.

thanks!!!

And one more thing. The poster could take the board exams if she applies for dual citizenship since she was previously a Filipino. If she passes the NLE she can be able to get a license without any restrictions.I already sent her a PM about it.

But for foreigners who just came to the Philippines to study or were native born but to both foreigners, They cant take the NLE.

I am not sure where CA came up with this, but do know for a fact that it is what is being included in letters that they are sending out.

I was also under the impression that the US citizen could not write the NLE, and were excused from that requirement even with the CGFNS exam requiring the local license when one was not able to sit for it. But CA is stating that they can sit for the exam, but not be issued a license.

But the fact remains that one that is a green card holder in the US is still a citizen of the Philippines and therefore is not exempt from having the local license and that is where most of the questions are arising.
