Nursing Externships during COVID-19?

Hi everyone! I’m currently a 2nd semester  nursing student in Med surg 1. Like many other Due to COVID my hospital experience/real patient experience has been very limited. Thankfully my school has allowed us to use mannequins and participate in a couple simulation labs. 
I’ve been applying to nursing externships for the Summer however I don’t know if I’ll be adequate enough for the job. Most patient interactions I had I felt flustered and blank out. For anyone who has done them in the past can you give me some tips or insight?
