Nursing Entrance Essay! Please Help!

Published

I need help with my nursing entrance essay. The topic is "What I expect to obtain from this program" & is not to exceed 250-300 words. I was planning on having an intro paragraph, 3 body paragraphs, & a conclusion paragraph. I have the intro paragraph done (please tell me what you think), but I'm stuck on the rest. I'm not asking anyone to finish writing this for me by the way, I am simply asking for ideas. Thank you so much in advance :) Here is my intro paragraph:

-----------------------------------------

In this program I aspire to obtain all the essential skills and knowledge to be the best nurse I can possibly be. I have always wanted to become a nurse and I believe it will be a very rewarding career. I am most interested in pediatric nursing, but also want to learn about all different fields of nursing. Later, I plan on continuing my education to become a Registered Nurse and I know this program will help me prepare for that as well.

-----------------------------------------

This is for LPN by the way. The local community college RN program is super hard to get into (I know people that have tried for 2-5 years) they do not have a waiting list but they do have a LPN to RN program that is easier to get into, so instead of waiting & waiting for the main RN program I decided to go to the local technical school for LPN then after that go to the community college for the LPN to RN program. The tech. school only accepts the top 28 entrance test scores (compass test) & I was in the top 28! Now the next step is the essay.

One more thing, in that last sentece should I include that "as well" at the end or is it unnecessary? Thanks! :)

You should probably expect to receive the minimum training necessary to go to work as a safe, entry-level employee in a nursing home or medical/surgical setting.

I don't know if that's how you'd want to word it, but that's the goal of such an occupational training program.
