Nursing dream nightmares!!

I had a dream last night that I was literally being chased down the hall by the portable X-ray machine. It was trying to kill me!!

Anyone else have "odd" nursing dreams besides relentless call lights, monitors alarming or coding patients ?

I have had the "being run over by the portable xray machine" dream. I have also had the dreams with incessant call lights, phones, beepers, cardiac monitors, screaming patients, IV pumps, and vent alarms. I have gotten up in the middle of my sleep to silence the vent alarm at times. I have had the dream about forgetting to assign a patient and it isn't discovered for hours.

I have also had a dream that I was getting report in the bathroom. Why? I have no clue.

I've had dreams of doing CPR, and dreams of monitors never shutting off. Several years ago there was an incident where D51/3 was used as an artline fluid. A few days later I had a super sick pt, went home had a dream that my dopa and epi where running in m,y artline, also that I was using a central line for giving feeds. It was so vivid and real. the next day I was there for a meeting and had to check on the pt just to make sure.

Recurring:

I arrive at work without my scrubs. I suddenly have a full patient load (ED) but I cannot start work without my scrubs. My boss and coworkers will be wondering where I am, but I am frantically searching for a scrub store in the hospital that doesn't exist.

I've had this dream at least 3 times that I can recall. Only once did I actually make it to the store, but it was really dark inside and the scrubs were jammed in too tight with no sizes marked! I was panicking because I knew I had been gone too long and would be in a lot of trouble. Never in this dream am I successful at getting dressed and alleviating my anxiety by finally checking on my patients.

I get anxious just recalling it. I'm sure there's some big psychological thing behind this. BTW, I've been a nurse x 4 years and have never had any big problems, especially with scrubs!
