Hi Everyone,
Nursing has been my dream for a while. I am wanting to work with in Labor and Delivery. I am starting to worry that my dream will never come true now. Just found out about 2 days ago that my GPA is low and that I am no longer able to apply for Financial Aid until I bring my GPA back up. I had a 3.0 GPA until I made a "D" in one of me Prereq's for Nursing. I already have an Associates Degree in Health care Administration so I think that could make a big impact on my GPA. I will work on taking my 2 classes to bring my GPA back up to a 3.0 or better and hopes that I can still be able to get my RN. I am so worried and now I feel like I am a failure at times but I know that God want me to go on the right path. I am going to be studying real hard on my Teas test and saving up money so that I can pay for the classes I need until I am able to get some financial help to pay for my classes. I work full time and have two kids and still trying to stay positive.
Is anyone going through the same thing or has been through something like this before? Thank you

Were you on probation before you received the D? Usually, the initial dip in GPA gets you a warning and probation from the Financial Aid department and then you get dropped if you don't bring it up. However, some schools are very strict and will drop your FA at the drop of a hat. I can't believe they dropped it for 1 D though. Wow.
Just keep your head up. This happens to a lot of people (myself included) and I know it sucks that you now have to pay out of pocket to retake the class but perhaps since you've already taken it before you'll definitely do better this time around!
Hi BeachyRN2Be, I didn't receive a notice or anything. I was thinking everything was fine until I was looking to register for Spring classes and then noticed that my review was Terminated due to low GPA. I did Withdraw from a class in the Winter due to the Snow storm that we had and my teacher was taking things off the class schedule. But I wasn't warned about anything. I thought at least they would send a letter in the mail or send out an email to let me know about it. Thank you I will keep my head up high.
