Nursing Diagnosis For Cellulitis

Hi everybody

I need help with my NURSING DIAGNOSIS. tHIS IS whatI have but I am not sure if it is good enough or correct. COuld somebody please help me out?

IMPAIRED TISSUE INTEGRITY R/T INFLAMMATION OF THE SUBCUTANEOUS TISSUE OF THE SKIN S/T CELLULITIS AEB FACIAL AND AROUND EYES EDEMA, ERYTHEMA AND WARMTH SKIN.

the definition of [color=#3366ff]impaired tissue integrity is "damage to mucous membrane, corneal, integumentary, or subcutaneous tissues" (page 227, nanda-i nursing diagnoses: definitions & classification 2007-2008). your evidence supporting the use of this diagnosis is edema of the face and around the eyes, erythema and warm skin. those symptoms do not describe anything that sounds like damage to the skin or subcutaneous tissue at all. with impaired tissue integrity you are expecting to find open entryway in the skin, incisions, cuts, etc. often with cellulitis there is weeping of serum from the edematous tissues because they are so swollen. however, the correct diagnosis to use in those cases is impaired skin integrity (impaired skin integrity) since only the epidermal areas of the skin are involved. if there is no weeping of the skin and fluid only is being retained, then perhaps a diagnosis such as risk for impaired skin integrity needs to be considered.
