Hello!
If anyone else applying for the nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016 is anything like me then you've been googling like crazy trying to find out information on how to apply or what they need or even previous years winner. Soooooo.....if anyone is applying this year around or previously has and was or wasn't accepted please tell me your experience! Here are my stats PLEASE share yours if you'd like....
maryland full time nursing student.
VP of my local student nurses association
1st semester done ( :) ) asking for 2 years assistance
GPA 3.44
EFC 0000
4 years of community service in underserved communities
Polkadotcake, congrats on your award! If you don't mind me asking, what were your credentials (i.e. GPA, EFC, years of volunteer experience, any negative marks on credit)? I'm sure I speak for all when I say that we would like to know what an actual scholarship recipient's applications looked like?
Good luck on your delivery Justine1416 and congratulations to everyone who has receive the email. My credit hasn't been checked yet so I am hoping for the second badge. To those who have received their email what are the documents they are asking for? I am travelling this Wednesday for two weeks and want to have them with me just incase I am lucky to receive the email. Good luck everyone
To all who are wondering, when you check your status on HRSA website and it says still under review, last year my status said the same thing until I received the rejection email in late September.
I am sharing this information becuase I was in you all situation checking my emails and the status just to see it says still in review. When actually my credit was never check, never received any notification until the last emails indicating the rejection. I have read most of this thread and we all are inticipating this award. I think it would be best if they would send out rejection emails first this way if you know you will not receive this award you can begin making other financial plans.
Reading last year threads I do not think many students in the Midewest Region ( Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota and Indiana) were recepitants of the HRSA scholarship. This is my second round of applying for this scholarship and as I mentioned before I thought I had a stellar chance of receiving this award.
My second plan is I have been accepted to two Nursing programs one is the BA in nursing with the 36,000 yearly price tag, the other is the community college RN two year program with a 3,600 price tag. I can get a 2,500 tuition reimbursement yearly from my job so the two year program really is no problem for me since I have a bachelor in Health Care Management and a Masters in Public Administration. I would rather pursue the BA in nursing.
Hope this information help those who are still waiting and those who have not had their credit check as well.
Good Luck
tcornett I will post my resume for your reference

I've been following this thread without comment, but finally had reason to include myself. My credit karma updated today and I had a credit check on the 29th by credco. I am an ADN student with only about a year of relevant work experience. My GPA is 3.82 and efc is 0. Luckily, the essays count for so much because that is something at which I am talented. I didn't read my letters of recommendation, but imagine they were good. I haven't received an email, but I'm hopeful.
My stats:
entering Accelerated BSN program at the end of this month
EFC 0
GPA 4.00
strong recommendation letters
some volunteer experience/some of it medical related
CREDCO shows up on credit karma 7/29
obsessively checking email and HRSA portal
