Hello!
If anyone else applying for the nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016 is anything like me then you've been googling like crazy trying to find out information on how to apply or what they need or even previous years winner. Soooooo.....if anyone is applying this year around or previously has and was or wasn't accepted please tell me your experience! Here are my stats PLEASE share yours if you'd like....
maryland full time nursing student.
VP of my local student nurses association
1st semester done ( :) ) asking for 2 years assistance
GPA 3.44
EFC 0000
4 years of community service in underserved communities
Thanks for your response ! I tried to register for credit karma and it doesn't work ( probably since I don't have credit. I never had a credit card and thus is my first year in college so it will be my first time dealing with loans) I hope that doesn't affect my application because they are unsure if I'll will be able to honor my services since they don't have anything to look at to show I am a reliable candidate. I'm new to this. My gpa was around a 3.2 and that makes me extremely nervous because everyone seems to have a 3.5 or higher. I also don't have a lot of experience serving undeserved communities.
SD,
I posted the scoring criteria earlier. GPA is only 10/100 points.
In terms of credit, they only look for the issues that I mentioned. If you don't have anything to prove that your are NOT a reliable candidate, then you don't have a reason to worry.
Try to register again with credit karma. Just because you don't have credit, doesn't mean that you don't have a credit record (even if its blank.)

Hi SD,
HRSA checks your credit for public records such as leins, bankruptcies, defaults on federal loans and other indicators that you do not honor your responsibilities.
You won't have an issue unless you have any of those on your credit report
