I'm not sure what my universities equivalent of "Nursing 1" is, but I just finished my first semester of nursing classes. I took "Theories & Concepts:Intro to Nursing", "Pathophysiology", & "Health Assessment" for a total of 12 hrs. I made an A+ in all three classes. Yes, it required a good amount of studying for me to make straight A's but it was very doable.
You can also see if you can appeal full time status. That is what I did. My Funds class is also 7 credits and according to the Dean of Nursing when broken down the amount of hours for lecture, clinicals, skills lab and computer lab is 21 hours. That doesn't include the amount of time needed to study. I would talk to Financial Aid and see. Fin Aid at my school considers the nursing program full time, so they were very helpful for nursing students that are in this situation.

mine is 6 credit, and about the same number of hours...plus i have 1 credit hour of nursing seminar(on campus) and 1 credit hour of pharm(online),so i am looking at 8 for the fall semester....do you have these 2 one hour credit classed too?
here i was thinking, great! part-time with only 8 credits....but seeing it actually down on paper is lot more...
Our semesters are very structured so almost all of us take the same classes, unless we transferred in different credits. The first semester I took A&P 2, Psych 102, and an online higher level English. For this upcoming semester, nursing is 5 credits so I'm also taking Micro, Pharmacology, Intro to Stats online, and Med term online. It seems like a lot but the online classes will be back to back, not at the same time.I always take on more just because it costs the same to have 12 credit to 18 credits and my school is expensive.
my nur 111 is 8 credit hours and i have to be full time status as well. one required course that i needed is only 1credit hr & i will be doing sociology on-line which starts in october (for bsn). i think i want to hold off on the harder ones @ least until i figure out how to plan & get use to a study schedule for nursing courses :) look for the online courses that start later or the ones that end early. go to ratemyprofessor.com or ask around about the professor before signing up **hint-look for the easier ones ** you should be fine...i'm sure its very important not to get behind!! good luck can't wait til august yayyyy

Hello. Has anyone taken Nursing 1 along with other classes? I am in a situation that requires me to be a fulltime student (12 credits), however, my first semester of Nursing only ends up being 7 credits so I need 5 more credits.
If you have taken other classes with Nursing 1....what were they? Was it too much?
Any help would be great! I am really scared to overload myself.
Thanks!
