Nursing Care Plans

Does anyone use a company for their basic plans of care (like Lippincot or Mosby)? We are trying to develop care maps and I would like not to have to start from scratch if possible. Thank you!

We have Care plans in place, but on occasion it is necessary to write one that we don't have on the computer.

The following is a link to a book on Amazon.com-this is what we use to write the care plans....

(also what I used in school---wonderful tool!)

ours are built into our charting system, we use Citrix - PowerCharting every now and then I have to taylor one a bit using the other/comment boxes but for the most part it's all there

This sounds like something very new. Are you in a large teaching center? You might write to NANDA and ask if they know of any facilities that are doing this. Who came up with this idea and what gave them the idea? Maybe they heard of some other facilities already doing it.

Try googling "Zynx". I looked into it for our facility. We're a very small hospital, so it's out of our price range, but they have what you're talking about. It's an electronic system.

We have Citrix and Powerchart but we do not have that as an option. Would it be possible for you to let me know what version you use? Perhaps we can purchase an upgrage. Thanks for responding.

We are a very small hospital - 59 beds. The department of health wants to see a plan of care on each patient. I think care plans or care maps would be the way to go. If we can get a product that has prewritten plans - it would certainly yeild higher compliance. Thanks for responding.

I'll have to check when I go back in, the orderable to trigger it is plan of care - develop set this once and then q24H we have plan of care review & revise, I think it can be found in ad hoc charting too, it's been there since I first started learning it almost 3yrs ago at first clinical.
